Hot food on a bus

Would you get on a bus with hot food to take home? Would you be concerned about the smell? Not to get out and eat on the bus but wrapped in a bag.
One person thinks this is fine and it’s the only way she can have this particular fast food with her family that they all enjoy.

One person thinks the bus must stink and it’s not fair on the other passengers.

The sign on the bus itself says ‘please help keep the bus clean, do not eat and drink’ or similar.

As long as it's properly wrapped up, and not too pungent and as long as she isn't sat eating it in the bus then I don't see the problem

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 02/11/2018 15:56

I wouldn't have a problem with it.

It depends...are we talking doner kebab or a pizza?

museumum · 02/11/2018 16:05

I’ve done it with fish & chips. Well wrapped up. There is a slight smell but not overpowering.

PotteringAlong · 02/11/2018 16:06

The sign says don’t eat, not don’t carry food. It’s fibe.

It's fine - on the train they serve chicken tikka masala, it's no worse that that after all

MaisyPops · 02/11/2018 16:48

A slight smell of food is fine. If it's wrapped properly then the person with the issue needs to get over it.

If it's poorly wrapped or particularly pungent then the person with the food is being a little inconsiderate.

Obviously it relies on the complainer being reasonable and not being the type of person who would declare any smell pungent ( or be someone who claims they can smell scented sanpro from the person on the next desk Grin)

Thanks for sharing opinions. It was kfc, and I can’t believe it but I sat and watched while 2 friends had quite a passionate argument about it. Personally I get the bus quite a lot and I prefer to smell food than cigarette smoke or body odour.
