I've been gp today with gastritis and ibs. it's been on and off a while. I've got no energy and feel crap. Ds is 1 and he's so happy and beautiful but due to me feeling crap I'm not doing enough with him. I'm either retching or on the loo while he's stuck in a play penSad

Please don’t berate yourself, You didn’t choose to be unwell 😔

VladmirsPoutine · 30/10/2018 19:36

This doesn't make you a failing mum, not even close.

When you say on and off how long have you been suffering and are you being treated/tested for underlying issues?

FannytheW0nderDog · 30/10/2018 19:39

You are not a bad mother at all. Looking after a baby whilst you are properly ill is really hard work. Please call on friends or relatives to help out in the meantime. Sending Flowers to help you on your recovery.

I'm having bloods and stool sample sent. Honestly if someone who just feed me via a drip id take it. Food hates me

My parents are away and my husbands family don't care. I've had to phone in sick to a new job

How are you today x

ohtheholidays · 31/10/2018 22:35

I'm sorry your so ill,it's a nightmare when you have to keep running to the loo when you have small children at home to look after.

But there is no way that you are failing as a Mum,your really ill and all your worrying about is your DS!

The fact that he's happy and smiley shows that your doing a good job.

I hope you get the results back from your tests soon and that you feel better Flowers

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 31/10/2018 22:38

Stop it. Stop reflecting your illness back as ‘failing’ your child.

I hope you feel better soon, physically and mentally Flowers

DevonshireCreamTea · 31/10/2018 23:08

You are unwell OP go easy on yourself of course you aren't failing your children Flowers

I have ibs. But the doctor put me on the fodmap diet. It worked within four days. Stomach back to normal. No more pain. I was shocked it worked to be honest as I’m sceptical about this type of stuff.

I really would give it a try. It has been a wonderful thing for me and I feel fairly normal again

FurryAndObnoxious · 01/11/2018 12:38

I'm.a bit better. Eating fodmap and monitoring myself. It's bloody crap

You sound like a lovely mum who is poorly. If you'd broken your leg, you wouldn't say you're useless and you'd have more sympathy and help

Hope that you can get to the bottom of it and feel better soon. Your child won't remember this age, even if you do.
