Me! For a few years.
You need a 1st degree, usually a further degree, and either teaching experience or teaching qualification, or both, depending on faculty. They hire by module and region - look at the OU website and wait for a vacancy that fits your subject and location.

You need to be pretty confident and tech-savvy (lots of online teaching).

Pros: VERY flexible, reasonable pay, once you're 'in' a chance to get more work, great students

Cons: No job security, work is very variable week to week (one week just a couple of hours, the next week 25 hrs + because of the marking!), limited progression opportunities, can be isolating if it's your only job.

Good luck!

Thanks for the answer ! Flexible is good for me and it's definitely something I'm considering but have no teaching experience.

I'll speak to OU and see what they recommend
