Bros - Cat Among the Pigeons. Worst song ever?

Just seen it on a cable channel. 1988 was my time but I'd never heard this song before. What a pile of poo. Is this the worst song ever? And if not, what is?

Outrageous. It's a personal favourite!

No, the worst song ever is Duran Duran's cover of Public Enemy's "911 Is A Joke". To be fair, the original is fine, so this may not qualify. But this version is the song most likely to make you cringe your insides out. If you're feeling brave:

No it’s Loverboy by Mariah Carey. No discernible tune, can’t work out the lyrics. It’s just a load of noises and her breathing a lot!

Graham Norton has a feature like this on a Saturday morning, you will definitely hear worse than this without waiting too long.

That’s reminded me of an art project we had to do at primary school where we had to design and paint a pub sign.

Being a Bros fan my pub was called The Cat among the Pigeons Grin

It was bloody brilliant, nearly as good as Matt warbling to Silent Night whilst Craig and Luke lurked in the background.

PhilODox · 09/10/2018 20:19

At least it had a melody. Pretty sure there are many worse songs.... Like anything by Simply Red or The Blow Monkeys Hmm

Rockbird · 09/10/2018 20:24

I struggled but I couldn't find the melody. I concentrated really hard as well Wink

Having said that, Simply Red though... 😤

I am seconding the outrage. In fact, there is a pain in my chest. While that cat is among the pigeons... there’ll be no rest. Amen.

Ahhh Bros, who posed the ultimate philosophical question "When will I be famous?" To which of course the response was "for a short period in the late eighties"

Thank you Trevor and Simon.

@philodox, how dare you diss the Blow Monkeys? I loved them Grin

Anything by Phil Collins, especially sussudio.

iklboo · 09/10/2018 20:31

I used to work with someone who wanted Digging Your Scene by The Blow Monkeys as her wedding song. Not very appropriate Grin
