What do you have now that Cadbury and galaxy are horrid?

Iceland do a surprisingly good 'luxury' milk chocolate - very reasonable and no palm oil.

RedDwarves · 29/09/2018 00:36

Haighs is the best chocolate in Australia.

But it costs a bomb and is difficult to get your hands on, so I settle for Cadbury. Aldi chocolate is fine, but would involve me going to Aldi, which I don't ordinarily do.

I used to think Cadbury was repellant, but I'm thinking they've reined in whatever changes they made, because it's not as bad as it was a couple of years ago.

Montezuma Buttons are gorgeous but I only bought them by mistake and now Baulk at the ludicrous price

Waitrose own range

Another vote for Lindt - no other name brand chocolate is like it used to be Sad

HelenaDove · 29/09/2018 03:08

Tesco have some new choc bars out Zesty Orange dark chocolate Mint dark chocolate and Rich Coffee milk chocolate Ive treated DM to a bar of the coffee one as shes had a shit time health wise recently. Not tried it myself yet DH LOVES Whitakers Coffee Creams but they are dark choc which he prefers on a coffee sweet. He was disappointed to find that Tescos coffee bar came in milk

I was given a box of Roses recently Anyone remember when the Hazlenut in Caramel was a fairly chunky half moon sweet Its bloody shrunk.

Mum2OneTeen · 29/09/2018 03:28

I love Lindt Plan Milk Chocolate bars (not the filled Lindor crap)

VetOnCall · 29/09/2018 07:26

Waitrose 49% cocoa milk chocolate is divine. It's like a cross between milk and dark and I have to ration it or I'd eat it by the bar.

Babybearsporij · 29/09/2018 08:25

Ritter Sport
Sainsburys own. Seriously. It's amazing, no palm oil.
Co Op own fairtrade is also very nice.

Branleuse · 29/09/2018 08:29

Freddos are still old style cadbury.
Im addicted

EleanorLavish · 29/09/2018 08:32

Such a shame that so much is horrible now. The kids are allowed a treat in the newsagents on a Friday, and by golly, I could stand there all day and not want any of it.
So many yummy memories...Starbar, Lion Bar, Rolos, Cadbury, KitKat....all vile now.
I like Lindt Nocciolatte, and M&S Alpine nutty toblerone thing is quite nice. They do a none M&S hazelnut milk chocolate bar that is yummy too.
I wonder if shops you’ve a downturn in sales?

StealthPolarBear · 29/09/2018 08:33

Godiva

KimberWozRobbed · 29/09/2018 08:39

I second the Iceland recommendation. It's half price in my local store at the moment though so they could be phasing it out...

Also enjoy lindt milk chocolate and lidls.

beanaseireann · 29/09/2018 09:26

Branleuse
I think they've changed the Freddo recipe Sad
I had two one yesterday and they it tasted sickly sweet like American chocolate.

PiperPublickOccurrences · 29/09/2018 09:28

Aldi Moser Roth or Lindt.

Basically, anything which doesn't have palm oil in it - you have to get into the habit of reading the label.

Palm oil free costs more but the difference in taste is night and day.

HelenaDove · 29/09/2018 15:05

A couple of MNers like the new salted caramel fudge Kit Kat Chunky.

Alex3101 · 29/09/2018 15:26

Also I really like the Moo Free chocolate.

Just tried the Tesco Rich Coffee Milk Chocolate Can hardly taste any coffee in it at all.

theboxofdelights · 06/10/2018 20:04

The only milk chocolate I like is the 54% Montezuma dark side of milk or whatever it is called. It is lovely.

MinaPaws · 07/10/2018 11:20

Lindt milk chocolate makes me purr. It's a bit caramel-y and really silky. Not keen on Montezuma as it's so grainy.

NunsNunsReverseReverse · 07/10/2018 12:17

Lidl. The bog standard one in the blue wrapping. It tastes how Galaxy used to taste. To me anyway.

SharonBottsPoundOfGrapes · 07/10/2018 12:20

I occasionally buy Tiffin/mint crisp from the Irish section of the Ethnic aisle. It's dear but worth it.
