I have friends who make a really big deal of Halloween ( big party, loads of decorations etc) but we have never done much apart from trick or treating. I make pumpkin lanterns. I prefer Bonfire Night. Anyone do much?

Not me. I hate trick or treating (glorified begging) so no way will my child ever do that

What a miserable post! I live in the North East and always celebrated Halloween. In the 70s/80s it wasn’t a pumpkin but a carved out turnip with a candle in and string handles, we said Penny for Halloween and our dressing up was toilet roll wrapped round like mummies!

I get loads of sweets and few scary decorations in window/on door to let kids know they’re welcome, love seeing them dressed up and getting out! Not once have I ever though “What a load of beggars” Mainly because I’m not a misery guts GrinHmm

TheFuckfaceWhisperer your childhood Halloween sounds like mine (Liverpool) - I used to love it, and still do.

I like trick or treaters coming to the door too. This year I've got a novelty "doorbell" from Tiger that does a witchy cackle when you press the button Grin can't wait to use it!

You're welcome! Hope you enjoy it! Smile If you go to the lecture as well, I'll be there in my Halloween costume. Grin

We do, the bairns go guising and I’ve made up wee bags for the local bairns who guise too.

We have a wee party on fireworks night too, their friends come over and then we watch the fireworks.

We do Halloween here

Helps that we have an annual pumpkin parade every year to help get us in the spirit though.

Pumpkin parade is on the 12th this year
