I am missing...

I have been feeling a bit nostalgic lately (blame PMS and the weather) so join me on a (very random) trip down memory lane....
I miss...
...Friends I haven't spoken to (and thought of) for years
...The first weeks after the holidays in primary
...The kids I used to babysit as a teenager, I wonder how they are doing now
...A former friend's mum,who kind of treated me like one of her own
...Drinks without sweeteners (Mixing Coke and Fanta just isn't the same anymore)
...Sending letters to Father Christmas
...Fruit Breaks with my late grandpa, around ten he would sit down with me and he'd cut me an Apple or something and we'd chat (He died long ago but I still think of this from time to time)

What do you guys miss and just randomly notice that you miss it?

IRN BRU. PARAGRAPH Proper IRN BRU, not this pappy, low sugar shite.

All these beautiful memories, thank you for sharing Flowers

And YES to normal sugar IRNBRU.
I also wanted to say that I miss being able to do paragraphs on Mumsnet but mine seem to have re-appeared over night. However the great paragraph-shortage of 2018 made me realise that you sometimes don't appreciate things until they are gone

I randomly occasionally miss my step grandmother. She couldn't speak English. We had to share a bed. My mum was in a tight spot with her abusive husband and working all the hours she could. This kind silent grandma used to get up when I got up for school and she would cook me eggs toast and tea. Her smile was so beautiful.

The X Factor. I used to love watching that and get really into it, but it's not the same show anymore.

it feels too Klingon I love this autocorrect so much.

I miss my little cat so much. She was the best girl in the world.

I miss my independence. I developed medical problems nearly 25 years ago which eventually meant that I had to give up driving, and that getting out of the house at all is a battle for me unless I have DH with me. I feel like such a burden. I have to work from home now and it's so lonely.

I miss my mum - just being able to pick up the phone for a natter or to ask her for a recipe or tell her about something DS has done. She never got to meet him :(

I miss my cats, and my beautiful springer spaniel who died nearly 4 years ago and was such a character.

Funny how much grandparents figure. It's such a blessing to have them.
