Can anyone help as I my brain appears to have fallen out. Where is this image of a woman from? I've known in the past but forgotten and recently seen on a French cover of Anne Franks diaries, but not sure how it relates to her!

TIA

It's a Vermeer painting (I think).

It's on the cover of the Tracy Chevalier novel 'Girl with a Pearl Earring'.

Have no idea about the Ann Frank connection though.

Yes, it’s a painting by Vermeer. He was Dutch, as was Anne Frank - bit of a tenuous connection though!
