So I went down to the sacred store
Where I'd heard the music, years before

tombley · 08/06/2007 23:44

C'mon...
I went down to the sacred store

totaleclipse · 08/06/2007 23:44

but the man there said the music would'nt play.

tombley · 08/06/2007 23:45

But the man there said the music would'nt play.
and in the streets the children screamed.

totaleclipse · 08/06/2007 23:45

the lovers lie

tombley · 08/06/2007 23:46

and the poets dreamed
but not a word was spoken
the church bells all were broken

Desiderata · 08/06/2007 23:47

Ohh, temporarily stumped.

And in the streets the children screamed,
the lovers danced
and the poets dreamed,

totaleclipse · 08/06/2007 23:47

and the 3 men I admire the most, the father son and the holy ghost

tombley · 08/06/2007 23:48

and the three man I admired most

tombley · 08/06/2007 23:48

they caught the last train for the coast

Desiderata · 08/06/2007 23:49

They took the last train for the coast,

the day the music died.

CHORUS ... but shhhhh and then rising

totaleclipse · 08/06/2007 23:49

the day the music died

they started singing............

tombley · 08/06/2007 23:49

oh god it is so wonderful

Desiderata · 08/06/2007 23:50

correction: the lovers cried and the poets dreamed.

Desiderata · 08/06/2007 23:51

This has given me a wake-up call.

My son is still very small, but I don't want him to grow up without that song, and I don't currently have it in my music collection (unbelievably).

I'm going to get it tomorrow.

I want him to know all the words by the time he's four.

Is that unreasonable?

totaleclipse · 08/06/2007 23:51

tombley · 08/06/2007 23:52

Oh, yes, Tombley. Starry, starry night is a classic.

'this world was never meant for one as beautiful as you.'

It brings a tear to the eye.

Desiderata · 08/06/2007 23:57

talcy - you're a cool chick.

And this cool chick is going to bed.

Good night, lovely women!
