The Uncle Ben rice advert has given me the rage.

And the Avon advert is infuriating- her face doesn’t move?

The awful (Eva Longoria?) HY-DRO-CLON-IC AC-ID skincare ad where she EN-UN-CI-ATES every single syllable so that us stupid womenfolk can understand how to pronounce a moderately long word. Are there men's adverts for RAZ-ORS? YES I SAID RAZ-ORS DEAR? No thought not.

JovialNickname · 14/09/2018 00:11

OK Hyaluronic. Whatevs

Oh yes, the Eva Longoria one reminds me of that one that had the famous actress say something like 'Here comes the science bit' which used to make my teeth itch because a) women are not so thick we need a 'science bit' prefaced like that and b) it's not bloody science to show CGI wrinkles disappearing after arrows and beads bump into them while a made up latinish sounding words float around in captions.

Effing Shpok! Irritating shrill staccato girl's voice. It makes my fists clench (and my arse.)

GoodbyeSummer · 14/09/2018 02:01

🎶lucky lucky lucky me!
I'm a lucky son of a gun.
I sleep eight hours, I work eight hours.
That leaves eight hours for fun.

Lucky, lucky, lucky me!
Even though I haven't a dime,
I laugh and play in a carefree way
And I have a heck of a time🎶

I have no idea what it is advertising but that song goes round and round in my head and I can't get rid of it!

GoodbyeSummer · 14/09/2018 02:14

That one with the smug young couple in the photo booth I think talking about some shite u can't remember because I always mute it.
Thise alexa ads where they order random crap - that woman is out on the bloody street, why can't she just nip into a shop to buy whatever it is that she's told alexa to order for her? How lazy can you get?! Same as that one where the kid has drawn all over their face with lipstick - does the nursery not have wet wipes already? Not even a paper towel and some soap? How long are they going to leave the child covered in lipstick while they wait for their delivery of wet wipes? They irritate me. That one with the dad that needs telling every 5 minutes what to do. He's tgat baby's bloody father. He's a shit dad if he doesn't know when to feed/burp/change said baby or put it for a nap. "You're doing a great job ☺" how bloody patronising can you get? It all feed in to this shite that portrays men as being incapable of doing normal, everyday household tasks and need the woman to guide them because, of course, the house is her domain. It does my head in.

I know this is a worst adverts thread, but it got me thinking how much I liked the Xmas advert last year for Waitrose. The people in the pub snowed in and making their own Xmas dinner!

Really
Enjoyed that , was so cozy

scrappydappydoo · 14/09/2018 03:29

Haven’t seen it for a couple of weeks thankfully but the one with the little girl who is obsessed with sport and rushes home to watch it after school whilst kicking balls etc. I get that you’re going for equality and all but frankly that child is an aggressive bully that needs pulling up on her behaviour that she has clearly picked up from watching too much sport on tv.

Elderflower14 · 14/09/2018 07:28

@scrappydappydoo. Ds2 's friend is on the BT sports advert.... Not the main child though...

ProudThrilledHappy · 14/09/2018 07:37

Every single febreze advert with their patronising and misogynistic assumption that women do all the cleaning and men get scolded by wifey or mummy over how smelly they make the place

scrappydappydoo · 14/09/2018 08:47

Elderflower- he’s not the poor boy who gets pushed over is he? If my dc were acting that way they would be banned from tv for months.

GeoffCapesInSlingbacks · 14/09/2018 10:00

Another one, think its for Fixodent, the woman who pronounces adhesive as adhesiFFe, arrrrrrgh its a V Hmm

Elderflower14 · 14/09/2018 11:03

@scrappydappydoo.
It's the young girl on the other side of the tennis net!!

Synecdoche · 14/09/2018 13:50

"Don't be so literal, Miles"

Poor, long suffering Miles...

Theknacktoflying · 14/09/2018 13:55

‘underwear that is pritty’ - aargghh!!

Reminds me of the joke when the two little boys go to Boots and want to buy Tampax. Shop assistant asks them why and boy replies that he’s seen the ad and thinks it will make his friend able to ride a bike and swim ...
