First birthday with new boyfriend - present ideas?

I’ve been with my boyfriend for about 9 months now but as we don’t get to see each other as often as we’d like due to work and DC (his, I don’t have any) I guess it’s more like a 4-5 month relationship. I’ve known him for years though. All going well so far...

It was my birthday in February when we’d been seeing each other for just over a month and it was near Valentine’s Day, he bought me a beautiful necklace that I wear most of the time, and some roses. He’s really generous and lovely, he doesn’t have a lot of money, neither of us do, but he is very thoughtful, like when he went away he came back with jewellery etc. I probably sound really materialistic but I’m honestly not, I’m always completely touched by his gestures. He hardly ever lets me pay when we go out etc. even though I always offer, and not in a controlling way either.

Anyway it’s his birthday coming up in a few weeks and I have no clue what to get him! I guess my budget is about £75 and even though I know him well he’s difficult to buy for! Every time I ask he tells me not to worry which doesn’t help! He doesn’t have any real hobbies that I could buy him something for and I wouldn’t want to get clothes in case I got the wrong size, and he is fussy in terms of fit etc, besides I want to get him something special and original. The aftershave he really likes is £170 and he wouldn’t want me to buy that anyway.

So, any ideas would be much appreciated! Pretty much open to most things at the moment...

Xx

How about booking a night away somewhere? Or concert tickets?

I generally find that and event or activity is easier to get for someone who is hard to buy for.

Thanks, yes a night away would be lovely, it’s just difficult to plan a set date as it can be up in the air sometimes regarding when he has his DC for the weekend, but I guess I could do some kind of IOU! And a little gift as well.

Night away voucher, so date don't matter too much and a mini romantic hamper - eg wine, or good posh beers, glasses, chocolates, his fav pork pie or cheese

A subscription thing. They have them for all sorts of stuff and you can get three months, six months or longer, depending on budget.

I was also going to say an activity of some sort - not sure how much they’d cost but you should be able to get something for your money.
Would he like a voucher for a room escape? They’re very popular and really good!

Would you like something for him to keep though?

I like the escape room idea, they look like really good fun! But I’d also like something he could keep, as I wear the lovely necklace he bought me all the time. The watch idea sounds good... I’d love to be able to stretch to it all! Thanks Flowers
