Just ask for a hot wet one?

Are Cafe Nero winding me up or is this a thing?

Bought a take out hot chocolate last week. Was literally 50% froth so took a pic (as you do) and complained today and asked for a free one.

They gave me a new one without any fuss but the lady went on to tell me that it should be about 50% froth because they make them like a cappuccino.

I know they have a large amount of froth anyway but 50%?

She then told me that if I don't want the froth I have to ask for a "wet one" because it means they won't make it like a cappuccino.

The wet one they gave me today was cold. So next time I'll have to ask for a large hot wet one without whipped cream.

That is correct. Good luck saying it without smirking!!!

You could also say 'no foam'

Utterly ridiculous that you have to specify that you want your hot chocolate hot.

I haven't had a coffee shop hot chocolate for ages and this thread has reminded me that it's probably because they're never actually hot.

I like my hot drinks properly hot and can't drink them if they're not, so when I imagine sitting down and sipping a hot chocolate it's always a huge disappointment that I have to drink it really quickly before it goes even colder.

There's a new Nero opening near us (only other ones are in the city centre which I don't usually visit) so I might give it a try. Need to ask for a hot chocolate, extra hot with no foam, I think Confused.

Grin coffee shop hot choc always makes me think of FIL who get annoyed they still make it up with powder. I don’t know what he expects it to be made of?!

Have had warmed choc milk before from Konditor and Cook before and it was rank!
