I had toast for breakfast.

I don't get on with toast at breakfast time. It bloat me and makes my stomach hurt. I know this. And yet I had two delicious slices of hot toast and peanut butter. I am suffering for it!

Please tell me I am not the only one.

Wine.
I can occasionally drink a glass but 8 out of ten times I feel hungover before I've even gone to bed. Then I get a headache and sleep really badly and then I'm shattered the next day.
But every time, I think 'ah it'll be ok this time!'

It's not.

I just had afternoon toast with butter and raspberry jam. Washed down by a large mug of tea.

I am so going to pay for it (IBS), but it was so worth it.

wafflyversatile · 01/09/2018 15:50

Lie down on the sofa for a minute instead of going to bed.

See I don't think afternoon toast is as problematic.

Yes to staying up late. Netflix autoplaying the next episode is lethal for that.

Oh, I do the staying up too late things as well.

Also reading in the night when I can't sleep instead of doing breathing exercises to quiet my mind. Thrillers are especially bad for this!

Leaving things to the last minute...

99Probllamas · 01/09/2018 16:42

I occasionally forget that whenever I drink red wine, I wake up in the night with a really rapid heart rate and an upset stomach. Last night I learned that rum cocktails do the same thing, and I only had one!

DH thinks it's something to do with tannins. Really must remember to just stop drinking it.

wanderings · 01/09/2018 16:48

I put off buying things until they're really needed - for instance I won't top up coffee until there's none left. Ditto repairs - I'll live with something not working properly for as long as I can. I take the misguided view that doing so saves money.

Wearing trainers or boots on my bare feet. It saves faffing with socks, shows my bare ankles, feels nice (at first), saves laundry... what's not to like? Invisible socks feel like cheating, and ruin the look if there's a sliver of them showing.

CookiesandQueen · 01/09/2018 17:00

Camebert and crusty bread Grin
I love it! And it makes me feel dreadful.
Alcohol in general beyond a very small amount.

MrsMozart · 01/09/2018 17:09

WhatAmI It is when you have IBS... bread and it do not go well together. Poor DH already suffering from m'innards trying to be outtards Blush

donkeysandzebras · 01/09/2018 17:21

Faff around on MN when I really should go for a run or name the DC's clothes or do some gardening or read something slightly more worthy

Sandstormbrewing · 01/09/2018 18:20

Letting DS nap in the day. I know it'll make bedtime hell. But that 30 minutes of quiet is just bliss!

ScabbyHorse · 01/09/2018 19:28

Smoking a tiny bit... with a drink. I don't even enjoy it 9 times out of ten.
Takeaways
White bread

bourbonbiccy · 01/09/2018 19:36

Staying up far too late on nights my hubby is working, then my DS is awake at 5.30 -6.00 raring to go !!! I even think 10 or 15 times during the evening, "I must go to bed, I will regret this"..but I don't... Never learn. And it's just Sod's law , that's the time DS doesn't want a nap the following mid morning lol

Nononononono33 · 01/09/2018 19:42

Yeah...KFC. Always makes me feel queasy afterwards, but it’s sooo nice!

strangelove99 · 01/09/2018 19:53

Oh absolutely +1 to not wearing socks with shoes. Every single time I think that I won't get blisters and every single time I'm hobbling after half an hour. Why do I do this???

wanderings · 01/09/2018 21:49

@strangelove99 Sockless is fine for short walks, or for driving - I must just remember not to do it for longer walks. If I have a blister starting, even my softest and comfiest trainers make it worse!

Also not wearing my reading glasses when I'm using MN.

AspieHere · 01/09/2018 21:51

Wrt the socks, I have footlets. The ones I have literally go over your toes and around your heel, no sock visable and no sweaty foot making your shoes smell. I like the no sock look but trainer socks don't cut it as they are visable still.

Notquiteagandt · 01/09/2018 22:40

Fill up on bread basket before my main arrives

SkeletonSkins · 01/09/2018 22:47

Sitting on the bed wrapped in a town ‘for a couple of minutes to dry off’ after a shower.

Half an hour later....

SkeletonSkins · 01/09/2018 22:47

That should say wrapped in a towel

Spicy food gives me the craps these days. But I still ate a bag of those asda takeaway spicy crackers they are too good. And then I made a (mild) curry for tea. So will probably suffer tomorrow! It was worth it!
