Sell to me your idea of a perfect bath!

I’m 37 weeks pregnant and my back and bump are so sore and aching today after doing loads of DIY/cleaning. We’ve recently had a new bathroom fitted and now own a lovely big bath (before we only had a shower) and my DH suggested i have one to see if it helps with the aching. My lovely SIL has brought me a few bath bombs from lush round today from her stash.

Only thing is - I’ve not had an actual bath since i was a child and usually think they’re very overrated. but i’m willing to give it a go, people go on about them all the time!

So, any tips? how warm? bubbles and bath bomb, or not bath bomb? how deep do you make it? do you take books/food/drinks in with you? candles?!

😊

Scalding water ideally but not hotter than warm as you’re pregnant!

I loathe bath bombs, hate the smell and feel. I like a bath oil, though you need to clean the bath afterwards as it makes it very slippery!

As much water as you can get in. Always take a book with me.

I have a lovely bath pillow from the body shop, it’s waffle fabric with an inflatable pillow inside. Takes the pressure off your neck. Otherwise use a rolled up towel behind your neck.

Leave the door open and window if you have one, you don’t want to get dizzy if your bp drops from being warm and you’re not used to bathing.

Keep someone around to help you out if need be.

Enjoy!

As above re temperature! And someone to help you out if needed.

No oil based products as slipping would not be good.

I have a little table next to the bath, with book, phone and drink on it. There's candles in there but I usually forget to light them.

I usually like my DP in with me Wink

At 37 weeks pregnant, you might prefer yours elsewhere Grin

Traditional Japanese bath is good. The idea is that you are clean before you bathe, so shower and dry off just beforehand.

If you find it a struggle to get out, a good tip is to empty the bath while you're still in it.

Chocolate and crisps in bowls on the side as well as a drink of your choice. Towel to rest your head on. Fully charged and loaded Kindle. Bliss.
