Wedding transport for bride and bridesmaids

I wasn't planning on hiring transport for me (bride) and my bridesmaids on the wedding day.
I assumed we would just get a lift to the venue from my father.

The ceremony and reception is all in one place so no need for transport between the two.

My father has said that he will take me and my mother, and younger sister to the wedding and thought the bridesmaids would be going separately.
But they will be getting ready with me at my parents house.

I thought it was normal for the bride to travel with the bridesmaids?

Should I book a taxi ?

What is the norm?

Here in Ireland is customary for bridesmaids and mother of bride to travel to venue in one car, while the bride and her father (or whoever 'walking her down aisle') to arrive last in separate car. The cars can range from fancy antique cars to nice regular cars with the odd limo thrown in for good measure. But obviously you can do whatever suits best.

Congratulations on your wedding.

The bridesmaids don't usually travel with the bride. As your dad is driving you, your mum and sister to the venue, then your best best is to co-opt a willing relative to take them, or book a taxi for them. Make sure they well in advance of you!

Do whatever you want. My brother drove me and my MOH (no bridesmaids) in my DHs car which we cleaned up and decorated with ribbons.

Usually it's MOB first together with bridesmaid Then bride and her father after so bridesmaid are already at church/venue to meet the bride arrange her dress ect
So one car could do both trips if it's a short distance
For my daughter's wedding we hired one wedding car to do both trips then took bride and groom to reception
