People visiting in the school holidays.

I find it stressful when family try and come visit with their children in the holidays, does anyone else? I kind of like the time to relax and not do the school run etc and having to organise doing things to suit everyone is quite hard, expensive and stressful. Recently have started saying no and feeling a bit guilty. Does anyone else feel this as well or is it just me? Possibly harder as far away from most family so they actually have to stay and we haven't much space.

I haven't had family with young children needing to stay since I've had my own dc, but I used to LOVE going to stay with my cousins, in the holidays, when I was growing up. If you don't spend time with them as children, you miss out on those family relationships.
I don't see the need for much space - its for 3 days or so (?), people can just stretch out a sleeping bag on the floor, surely.

Do you prefer them to visit during term time? Isn't that even more stressful?

I find it stressful at anytime TBH. Most people know not to stay with me by now, I guess they've taken the hints or picked up on my horrified vibe when they suggest staying.
