I live on a busy road, my house has a driveway with a dropped kerb.
A couple of people regularly visiting a house a few doors away keep parking so their cars hang slightly across so I can't get in or out of the drive way. There is adequate room for a car to fit through but garden fences limit space to manoeuvre around parked cars,
I have asked them politely to leave the drove way entry clear, I have even pointed out that there is plenty of space alongside my garden fence which they are welcome to use, but just asked that they don't block my driveway.
They continue to do it, when there is more than enough room to park further back so they don't obstruct the driveway, so I can only assume they do it on purpose? Surely nobody is that thick to keep doing it over and over again once it had been pointed out? I was absolutely polite and not Confrontational so I cannot understand it!
I have recently had to park quite a distance up the road on a couple of occasions, and had to lug bagfuls of shopping to and from the car, as well as my sleeping baby in an incredibly heavy car seat. While it was pouring with rain and soaked us both right through.
It's also frustrating when I arrive home and indicate to turn off the road into the driveway, to find there isn't enough room to turn in, then have to reverse back into busy traffic, and end up getting grief from drivers thinking I am just pissing about!
I don't want to cause bad feeling or arguments, but it is my driveway and I don't see why they should keep making day to day life difficult for no reason!
What would you do?
