Kicking off with a fun post about performing surgery on my DD's favourite Xmas present (and probably mine too, to be honest!)

[[http://youngbyname.me/2012/12/30/operation-zhu-zhu-its-surgery-but-not-as-we-know-it/ Operation Zhu Zhu: It's surgery, but not as we know it]

(Hope I'm doing this right, I've never been first of the week before!)

Not blogged in a while, but saw this BBC thing today about people who died last year, and wondered why there were so few women featured. Deaths in 2012 - a feminist perspective

Happy New Year. 3 from me: I posted about changed plans and recipe fails on New Years Eve, then on New Year's Day, I posted the sort of failed Chocolate & Raspberry Roulade, which wasn't that much of a fail in the end.

And finally, (drum roll please, I am sooo excited) I am hosting the Forever Nigella blog hop/linky this month so if you're cooking anything inspired by the Goddess to cherish your loved ones, with, please do link up. The announcement post is here

Poor old drunk bunny In which my normal poor quality organisational skills means no silversmithing for me. Humph.

I'm new. This is my first post since joining the network so be nice!

A tale of how 2012 gave me a bit of breathing space and few links to things that have made my world a better place. newpencilcase.wordpress.com/

A while since I blogged as the Christmas period was truly manic.

Also a departure from my usual food posts- a plug for my friend's newly published e-book (published on Lulu). Rosy started a blog last year that detailed her ups and downs looking for love. It was such a funny, brave, truthful blog, which as often as I laughed I also cried.

Changes for 2013: Why don't I look after myself better despite what happened in 2012?!

I got a bit fed up with all the daily emails I get about my blog so decided to collate some of the most popular posts into a book about Marie Antoinette so that I can point people at that instead. However, being me, I've gone SLIGHTLY mad and added masses of extra stuff too so it's going to be huge when it comes out in the summer!

I'm on a roll. So here is my resolution for 2013, inspired by my 6 year old's feelings of failure big bad wolf

OK, did any one resolve to make their own bread this year? Well at the risk of sounding a little bit up myself, I am going to try and convert anyone that wants to the joys of making sourdough bread. You've got 10 days to make your starter before I start telling you what to do with it. The post tells you what to do.

Does anyone have children who like Moshi Monsters? This probably suits girls more but I'd love a boy to win!
I'm hosting a Moshi Monster giveaway on my blog for the next couple of weeks.
