Right.

I have decided to start a blog (on party ideas/bad parties/being a lazy partier) kind of thing.

I am HOPELESS. I've started a TUMBLR blog here and it looks shit, and I can't work out how to make it look not shit. Also - I want to be able to put pics up and then text:

For example:

Title: Pirate Party
PHOTO
Text underneath
Photo.
Text

Etc etc.

BUT ARRRGH

Help me bloggers! am I better off on wordpress or summat (also, talk me through wordpress I am totally new to blogging, but think I could enjoy it)

I haven't investigated Tumblr so cannot say what is better but recently changed from Blogger to Wordpress and prefer it there.

You can change themes, where you put your photos etc.

oh, and wahahahahahaha at your blog so far.

Also. I WANT TO KILL THE BLOGIVERSE.

Use Wordpress or Blogger. They are both good. Honest

Don't use Tumblr for this. Tumblr is for posting one picture/link and a bit of text. It's sort of a visual Facebook feed.

Got to Wordpress.com and sign up for a free account. It's easy to set up and make the blog look anyway you want.

OK, I've got a clear day today. I am going to wrestle this thing to the floor and sit on it's head.

Well, I'm going to confuse you and advise Blogger. It's simple, you upload photos easily and can add text all over the shop. Wordpress is ok, but I find Blogger easier if you're basically a chimp with a laptop.

I am basically a chimp with a MAC actually.

I'm not going to get any work done AT ALL today. (Good job I was very efficient yesterday and finished all my stupid work.)

I have to reluctantly agree that Blogger is slightly easier to use.

I like the look of my pared down blog now, but for a beginner I would say that Blogger might be better.

Chick - I LOVE IT.

It's weird actually, since I got the i-pad, I have become slightly obsessed with reading blogs in bed. This is the reason I decided to make one myself (plus, I really do have some really REALLY good ideas about parties, and the children are getting too old for them now .

God that is really sad)

So now I have 2 new ones to read in bed. YAY!

I love your blog and have finally remembered to add you to my bloglines list. The way you describe the chooks is so fab, I feel that I know their personalities.

chickens - I LOVE you blog. Makes me want a garden so that I can get some of my own!

I have both blogger and wordpress and I prefer the clean lines of wordpress but blogger was easy to pick up when I was new to it all.

You're all far too kind. I am well aware that only a housewife with far too much tome on her hands would write hundreds of posts about chickens. Luckily for me, there are lots of similarly afflicted chook-lovers, so I have some regular followers. And when a hen dies, I actually get messages of condolence. That, people, is the power of the blog.
