There are lots of rumours. He is an oddball. Easy to knock an oddball.

But I think he has a very generous heart. I remember him visiting me when I was a child in a hospital in Leeds over the Christmas period. He was and might still be a volunteer at the hospital. Our ward for about an hour was a smiley laughing place (with presents). He was rich with his time.

I also know a family who he assisted with support ( with time, getting them the right help and financial). No ulterior motive on his behalf - just he wanted to help and could.

I was told by a friend that when she was a child and visited relatives, so 70's ish, he had a caravan in some woods nearby and local children knew not to visit.
