Time for a new specialism, methinks!

Night all!

TheSmallPrint · 24/02/2011 08:37

Morning all! Who is claude? Confused

twigs when are you off?

Right I have a morning of work, cleaning birthday and food shopping g ahead of me Sad.

PassTheTwiglets · 24/02/2011 09:15

giggles at HotBrit :)

We are off on Monday morning, Small. As you are Small, I'm sure you'd fit into my suitcase!

Re. Claude Monet - I think we could transpose the initials and we'd have our answer :)

TheSmallPrint · 24/02/2011 10:19

HotBrit is a much better title for the film I think Grin.

Ahhh, do you think?

SupermassiveLBD · 24/02/2011 11:30

Morning all! I too am LOL @ HotBrit. I still can't get over how great that beard is.

So, Sparkhouse. I watched the final episode this morning. And am quite mad about Ralph John. I felt some fellow feeling there, for when people actually use my name rather than a nickname, I am known by my second one too. Though not because the first one is something embarassing like Hepzibah.

It was so well acted though, all the little touches, the micro-managed expressions and the carefully thought out body-language -the stance, the walk so different from what we have seen with him in other roles.

So has anybody had thoughts as to how the story would continue after Andrew's death? And Spiro was right, he is a first class PLF and he makes you want to slap him, big-time.

I think all the fictional tropes of Romance, the childhood sweetheart, star-crossed lovers, the One etc etc have a lot to anwser for. I am certain you can love more than one person in your life.

What I am trying to say is do you think John and Carol ever made a life together? Obviously I am aware it's fiction, O ye lurkers who now think I have totally lost it. But the wannabe writer in me wants to know what happens next.

Twigs. I hope the cleaning is going okay. I am looking at my filthy abode and wondering what I'm going to do about it.

TheSmallPrint · 24/02/2011 11:57

It's me cleaning Massive Sad

I think they made a lovely life together. Smile

TheSmallPrint · 24/02/2011 11:59

I like the way you make all RAs character love rivals PLFs!! Grin you are right in this instance though. And in RH to be fair.

SupermassiveLBD · 24/02/2011 12:16

Small, sorry about the cleaning ''mis-attribution'' if there is such a word. It's Twiggy who'd planning the Disneyland trip, isn't it? I bet you wish it was the other way round, too. Wink

On the question of The Man's characters versus love rivals, maybe a lot of other guys look like PLFs in comparison. I seem to remember Margaret's other swain was a bit of a drip.

What about JP? Does he have a rival?

DumSpiroSpero · 24/02/2011 13:12

Several, but not romantically.

Massive - you've gone & done it now. I will be forced to spend all Saturday evening rewatching Sparkhouse, and then may attempt to write some proper fanfic Blush - unless you beat me to it of course!

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 24/02/2011 14:01

Spiro Grin Sorry in advance for your pain.
I haven't any plans to write Sparkhouse 2, so you go ahead. That would be great. Maybe one of these days we can get to read it

DumSpiroSpero · 24/02/2011 14:09

Will see what I can do!

Frantically dusting & tidying & hoping to squeeze in a bath & 40 winks before dinner whilst H & DD are out. Didn't sleep at all last night.

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 24/02/2011 14:29

Why no sleep Spiro?

SupermassiveLBD · 24/02/2011 15:25

Woo hoo! Good news for JP fans in the latest Sky press release.
This is of course mentioned here for the one person left in the world who is not on Twitter.

Filming begins late February in South Africa.

And Richard Armitage returns as John Porter

I know we knew but this sounds quite official

SupermassiveLBD · 24/02/2011 15:27

of course the date is 10 Feb so not new... sigh. Sorry folks.

DumSpiroSpero · 24/02/2011 15:31

Mmmm - yippee!!!

No sleep - well, got back late from Zumba ad visiting olds. Jumped in bath at midnight - got out 20 minutes later feeling all relaxed by which time DH was star-fished across the bed snoring at about 8 on the richter scale.

Sorted out hot water bottle and pillows for spare room (north facing, el cheapo pillows at the mo Grin).

Almost asleep and had one of those half-awake nightmares where you don't know what's going on but feel really uneasy and can't quite wake up. Then heard DD get up - she got in with DH, then got in with me, fidgeted nodded off (I think - which made me too hot) then decided to go back to her bed and that she needed tucking in and CD player on.

So have no idea what time I got back to bed but was only half asleep for the rest of the night Confused.

SupermassiveLBD · 24/02/2011 15:59

Oh, Spiro, they never show that sort of things in the happy ever after movies, do they? Sad

Great times, the foghorn snores, hanging on the the edge of the bed with your finger-nails and half a butt-cheek, devoid of a square inch of duvet. Mr M never just turns over, he does a double twist and pike in the air as he does so.

I have de-camped more or less permanently to the spare room. As you have probably guessed given the late hours I keep on here.

DumSpiroSpero · 24/02/2011 16:17

I think having the option of a spare room is always a good thing. I would probably de-camp to mine more often if I could get away with it, as I'm very much a night person and like to read in bed which I never get to do anymore.

I can't remember my parents every sharing a bed, or even a bedroom, so to me it doesn't seem odd - just practical Grin!

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 24/02/2011 16:59

We have a spare room which either of us goes to on the follwing grounds;

  1. Excessive snoring that a swift kick to the knackers doesn't stop.
  2. One or other working past midnight.
  3. One or other feeling / being sick.
  4. One or other unable to sleep due to worrying.
  5. A row.

I actually prefer the spare room bed to my own, it's so comfy.

Where is the Sky update?

DumSpiroSpero · 24/02/2011 17:39

I must admit I'm not wildly keen on our spare room - it's half used for storage so is not exactly a chill-out zone (but might try and change that over the next few months).

Our sofa is lovely however - it has reclining ends, and the benfit of big tv, log burner and being right next door to the kitchen if I fancy a late night purely for some me-time! Grin

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 24/02/2011 17:53

We don't have a spare room yet (we've been in this house about 6 years and it's still not finished!) We have a second living room downstairs that is, at the moment, an unplastered, uncarpeted junk room. But the plan is to turn that into a child-free living room (no toys allowed, and kids banned too, unless they are reading - I'm already calling it 'the quiet room' :)) We'll get a sofabed in there so that can double up as a spare room. DrTwiglets and I are crazy about Venice so we're going to decorate it all Venetian and stuff, innit.

SupermassiveLBD · 24/02/2011 18:15

Ours is an amicable arrangement, it means everyone sleeps, as the snoring etc are chronic. So he doesn't feel guilty for keeping me awake.

I haven't mentioned my insomnia yet, either!

Sky press release here

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 24/02/2011 20:04

Hi all, feeling a bit rubbish today - cold, etc. Kind of ruined my time on my own today. Think I may take a bath and retire early tonight...good to see that press release about SB though - that cheered me up!

TheSmallPrint · 24/02/2011 20:21

Here Phoenix have a Brew to make you feel better. I hate feeling poorly when I'm at work, you just want to go and lie down somewhere quiet but no chance of that.

I am very pleased about the SB news also Smile.

SupermassiveLBD · 24/02/2011 20:59

Sorry to hear Phoenix is not feeling well. I hope I didn't pass that bug of mine on Grin

Of course I just have to send her the doctor

Oops, sorry, wrong doctor
