So how much exactly will it cost the tax payer to incarcerate him for 4 weeks?

And in 5 years he will have his licence back.Hmm

Why not give him a life driving ban, and a (much) larger fine?

Guilty feet have got no rhythm.

I agree it is about time, I also agree with the other comment about meaningless sex and drugs. It will be a holiday for him.
I have a friend who is a warden at Pentonville, I shall email him immediately and get the gossip.

{grin] @UQD

BaggedandTagged · 15/09/2010 11:03

Slightly off topic, but did anyone else see the graffiti on the wall of the Snappy Snaps?

Someone had written "Wham!" above the impact point.

Ahem- not that it's a laughing matter but....

pagwatch · 15/09/2010 11:05

Grin at cybs "Hang on ..." post

For some reason I love that he crashed into Snappy Snaps.

Housewife2010 · 15/09/2010 11:08

It's about time. How many times has he been caught taking drugs & in a car? Time to lock up Naomi Campbell next. Any non-celebrity who acted like either of them would have been locked up years ago!

LynetteScavo · 15/09/2010 12:08

No, if he hadn't been gay, and had married me, none of this would have happened. I would have kept him on the straight and narrow.

He already has a criminal record. Does nobody remember his cover of "Roxanne"?

LynetteScavo · 15/09/2010 13:28

Oh, my sides are splitting.

UnquietDad · 15/09/2010 13:29

I've heard he's appealing. He wants 5 years instead. (All right, I'll stop now...)

Hassled · 15/09/2010 13:31

Maybe he'll find a father figure inside.

I'll join Cyb with the rooftop protest as long as I can be Pepsi.

mollyroger · 15/09/2010 13:44

Do you think he'll be serenading fellow inmates with I Want Your Sex?

why should ANYBODY get special treatment in prison though?

chippy47 · 15/09/2010 13:48

New single soon out -carless whisper followed by 'I want my freedom 'remix.

ProfYaffle · 15/09/2010 13:51

I saw a joke on FB about a Hairless Fister which I'm not going to repeat .....

cyb · 15/09/2010 19:03

I have a Choose Life tee shirt!

AND I was at an 80's themed fancy dress party on Sat night (I was one of the birds from the 'Addcited To Love' video, electric guitar, the works).

George Michael walks in! Mirrored shades, Wham teeshirt, white trews, the lot.

Granted he was only about 5 foot 4 but that didn't stop me warning him of how I could behave if I had one too many Lambrini's.

UnquietDad · 16/09/2010 10:54

Does anyone else wonder why he doesn't just employ a full-time driver? It's not as if he couldn't afford one.

HerBeatitude · 16/09/2010 12:03

No I don't wonder.

I just assume that it's because he's got an enormous, overdeveloped sense of entitlement that he is above the law because he's George Michael.

I realise my assumption could be wrong, of course.

UnquietDad · 16/09/2010 12:07

Lots of slebs are pretty arrogant, though, and expect doors to be opened for them, queues to be jumped, etc. I'm sure most of them have drivers.

donnie · 16/09/2010 14:28

what will it mean for him travelling to the US? Is it not the case that folk convicted of drugs offences are banned from entering the US?
I do feel a little sorry for him but he had it coming.

Katiekitty · 16/09/2010 21:28

Um, am I having a sense of humour failure here, but would you all be laughing and joking about a.n.other drugged driver who had been sent to prison for repeat crash offending?

Please can one of you jokers point out the funny side to me? I really can't see it

I'm keen to be told the funny side

thank you

HerBeatitude · 16/09/2010 22:42

Well, I'm not one of the jokers as I haven't been laughing about this but I think it will inevitably be perceived s funny, because it has the scenario of someone who obviously believed he was untouchable, discovering that they are after all, answerable for their behaviour.

Someone full of their own sense of importance being brought down to the level of ordinary mortals or even better, lower than ordinary mortals has been a rich seam of comedy throughout history.

HTH... Grin

TheCrackFox · 16/09/2010 22:49

In what way would sending someone who loves drugs and casual sex to prison be a punishment?
