I've answered this before on other platforms, but I'm bored and thought I'd post here. I used to work at KFC and have seen things (both staff and customer wise) that no one should ever have to see. Definitely was one of the craziest jobs I ever had growing up. Maybe no one will care maybe someone will. Ask away!

Did you ever do anything disgusting to the food because a customer pissed you off (or you just felt like it)?

NotForTheMoneyandNotForTheApplause · 20/10/2025 18:46

Why is the service so slow?

Nope. No matter how rude or nasty the customer was I personally never tainted the food (or saw anyone else do that). If a customer was a rude "Karen" as they call them, I'd just do petty things like charge them 10p for sauces and give it for free to others, even if it meant they had no cash and had to pay by card!

Short staffed with high turn over mainly. Usually the staff were teenagers who quit after a few months or (in our case) the staff were routinely deported so we had bare bones staff most of the time and had to make do.

You mean KFC are employing people who don’t have the legal right to work in the U.K.?

Did you ever steal bags of frozen popcorn chicken to cook at home?

At the time, their VISAs would get expired and they'd get deported and never come back. They were close with the manager so we'd find out why they just never came back. A lot of them of them were on VISAs where they could only work part time.

Me personally no, I was terrified of getting fired and was quite young. Didn't stop others from treating it like their personal supermarket though. Management and staff all stole including from the till!

A few off hand:

A manager and assistant employee were caught having sex on the burger station by head office on the CCTV (and they quit shortly after to avoid getting terminated).

Watched another manager get arrested for stealing over £8k, and the police stormed in during busy rush hour to do so in front of shocked customers.

Another manager, health inspector and I watched two women have sex in the toilets. (We naturally failed our inspection sadly haha).

Watched a man (who declared he was high on coke) burst into the store during busy lunchtime in front of families and children do the helicopter butt naked and run out. (Well he refused and only left after we called the police, to avoid getting arrested).

I remember the man who ripped a bolted metal chair from the ground and threw it at us with his burger because it was cold. (He had left it out for 30 minutes and came back to the store to eat it later).

A deranged (and mentally ill) chef burst in on his day off and threatened to burn down the store and kill the manager (due to a system error meaning we were all going to be paid a day late). I have many interesting stories about him haha.

I worked in one of the poorest high crime areas in England so have hundreds more stories sadly tbh!

Is the chicken halal?

QuaintGreenFawn · 25/10/2025 21:04

Why doesn't the vegetarian fillet have the same crispy coating as the meat one? Tastes different (worse)

Attempt333 · 25/10/2025 21:22

Would you personally eat a KFC ?

Has to be cooked in different oil I'd presume (but when I worked there we didn't have this on the menu!)

I have done many times since I left, it's overprice and tastes like cardboard now so I haven't for a year.
