Maybe interesting, maybe not. Often people have ‘ooh my child does this, could it be dyslexia’ type questions…if so, ask away!

Knowing what sound each letter makes doesn’t count as phonological awareness. I’d be concerned if he still wasn’t blending. Does he have ADHD? Sometimes those with ADHD are great at the rapid naming tasks, it suits their need for speed and is a short test. As he’s still quite young, I would offer to carry out the full range of assessments on him, and if it didn’t turn out to be dyslexia, I’d offer a short summary report and charge you half the price. How is his spelling?

Also, do school have concerns, and is hos verbal ability much better than his written ability?
