Did you have any losses? How many times have you been pregnant?

I’ve heard that some women love pregnancy and birth so much that they become surrogates after completing their own family. Would you ever contemplate surrogacy or is part of your love of pregnancy the fact that you are nurturing your future DS / DD?

What were your birth experiences like? Presumably you haven’t had a traumatic birth?

I've been very lucky and not had any losses
I've been pregnant twice and have both children (3 years & 7m old)

Edited

I said after my second that I would be a surrogate but I don't think it's something my DP would want me to do and I have to take his feelings into account too. Also I don't think medically i would be suitable based on previous births but I'm not sure

Both very different! My first was traumatic and I didn't enjoy that one nearly as much (it was also during covid as well so not a great time)

DC1 - spontaneous labour 1 week overdue. Eventually born by emergency c section 24 hours after labour started. Complications during labour and he had to be resuscitated after birth. Thankfully all is fine

DC2 - went into natural labour on my due date but there was concerns of scar rupture due to shoulder pain I was suffering in labour. Thankfully after a few opinions not the case. Broke my waters and 6hrs later after 29 mins pushing, DC was born. I did have an episiotomy with this one due to shoulder dystocia. Whilst this one did have complications too, I got a VBAC which is what I'd wanted and I was so off it on gas and air that I thought it went swimmingly!

I think because they were so different and with baby 2 I was up and walking straight after being stitched up etc it felt so much more positive

I've had two miscarriages and two live babies. I love pregnancy and birth too. I'm too old for any more babies-but I would love to experience that post birth high again!

Ididivfama · 11/10/2023 22:45

Are you planning a third?

febbabies2023 · 12/10/2023 16:58

@Ididivfama god no! I love the pregnancy and birth but having to raise them is a whole new ball game! I've got a daughter and a son, who both sleep well and are generally pretty easy kids so I don't think I'd chance a third! 😂
