I lost my 1st boob 12 years ago due to stage 3 cancer and unfortunately lost my other boob a month ago due to stage 2 cancer.
I now have no boobs. I'm currently waiting for prosthesis but in the last month I haven't worn anything and it has been so freeing.
I'm not going to turn down the free prosthesis as they are about £150 each.
But I'm struggling atm to think of when I'll wear them . As I wfh I might wear them when I need to go into the office?
Anyway I'm about to go to town to buy a bra in any size I like to fit the new boobs.
If anyone has any questions about mastectomy or double mastectomy I'll happy answer when I'm back!

Hi op, so sorry you have had to go through this twice.

When you had cancer in one breast, did they consider removal of the other to prevent the possibility of further breast cancer?

You say you are waiting for prosthesis, is reconstruction an option or have the NHS budgets been cut so much that this isn’t ever offered now? Would you have implants if offered?

Would you ever be likely to do as others have and tattoo the area?

I’m actually flat as a pancake these days so no longer need to wear a bra. Bras are so uncomfortable!

I hope you are making a good recovery and wish you well for the future and I hope you found a gorgeous bra.

First of all, I’m really sorry to hear about your diagnoses. I hope you are recovering from your recent surgery well.

I’m curious to know how it feels to be without the weight of your breasts on your chest. I have large boobs. I’ve had pneumonia twice and noticed how much harder it was to breathe when I was lying on my back. It got me wondering what it would feel like to be unemcumbered. Do you find you have more freedom of movement too?
