We had similar when ds was very young and taking him out was impossible, he's happy to go out now he's older (9) things have changed with him dramatically since he was little . It was very difficult for his brothers and me though at the time

I think you’ve answered this but I was wondering whether you resent your siblings? My DC have an ASD half (parental) sibling with other complex needs who basically holds the rest of the hostage dependent on their moods.

Everyone talks of the great empathy and patience my kids will have growing up but I wonder if they’ll just find it all a reason to resent. They are lucky in that this is FT for them and the rest of the time the household runs as a NT, social household. (Sibling cannot have visitors etc).

Their sibling is also very violent and aggressive and I constantly worry I’m not doing the right thing in allowing contact. I worry the environment traumatic will outweigh the benefit of contact with their sibling.
