I never get body odour - AMA

I have a genetic mutation which means I have no body odour and dry earwax instead of wet and sticky.

Any questions?

What exactly is dry earwax? Genuinely no idea if this includes me or not now!

OP, so you have a normal amount of earwax? Or less? I have the waxiest ears of anyone I’ve ever known. I also commit the cardinal sin of cleaning them with earbuds. I know you’re not supposed to but they get sooo itchy if I don’t. Do you need to clean yours? How does ‘dry’ earwax come out?

Any other side effects of it? Dry hair, skin?

@karmaisacat it's much paler than wet earwax and solid/flaky rather than dark and sticky

@Kanaloa I'm not sure really- I've never had noticeable earwax as an adult, my ears don't seem to get blocked (they never feel it anyway) and I don't clean them (do most people???). So maybe I do have less than others?

@mackthepony I do have fairly dry skin, but as far as I know this isn't linked to the mutation (I may be wrong though)

I clean mine every other day! I get dark sticky earwax and my ears get super itchy if I don’t clean them. I’ve noticed though out of my four kids only my youngest also gets it, so not sure if it’s actually normal or if maybe you’re more normal, that’s why I asked. I used to have to fold a baby wipe up and use the corner to wash inside her ears because I didn’t want nursery to think I didn’t bath her!
