What are your profit margins? I have heard that although nurseries are expensive to send children to, they don’t make a lot of money

Is your nursery increasing fees in line with the rise in minimum wages (6%)? Do you get a 6% increase in the free hours funding as well?

We are a group of four different settings so save on some fixed overheads but net profit is roughly 10% of turnover. It's certainly a hard business to make a profit in due to staffing costs being so high

We try to keep fee increases to a minimum and take into accounts lots of factors including a local fees survey when determining fees. This year we are increasing by about 4%. We certainly don't get an increase in line with the minimum wage rises for our funding income, which is very low per hour compared to what we charge for paid sessions

Would nursery workers lie about how much a child are in a day?

And is it really like all those mirror/ sun ‘confessions of a nursery worker’ article say ie ‘ … has had a really good day’ is actually a euphemism for … was less of a shitbag than normal
