I'm 41 and have spent 3 months in a psychiatric hospital since July.

I have an 8yo DC and a full time job. Plus I also have autism and ADHD.

Feel free to ask me anything whatsoever, I really don't mind how personal it is!

A diagnosis is definitely helpful, and also there are online support groups that can help people to understand from others with bipolar who understand and sometimes hearing the reality from them can make it feel easier to ask for help.

@noname22 I was diagnosed by Dr Shanahan at The Priory in Roehampton. He's amazing! I was inpatient at the time so not sure what the cost was, sorry...

@noname22 - it’s not just a diagnosis you need but to be plugged into the support network the NHS can provide - eg Crisis Team. Wishing you the best
