@eggsontoast9

I'm really sorry op Thanks I hope you manage to find something else soon x

I've always really liked Debenhams to. I think they sell great Christmas gifts. I just recently bought my mum a lovely grey scarf from the principles collection for Xmas.

I went earlier today to my local Debenhams and was surprised to find hardly anything on sale, even though it said in the window "everything must go". I thought all the shelves would have been empty but it wasn't the case. Why is that do you think? I thought that they would have wanted to try and get rid of everything before closing.

All I am going to say is....

This is just the calm before the storm.

Poor you. Flowers

I’ve been there and it’s shit. My previous employer went bust very suddenly in early 2019, although like Debenhams it was a slow-motion car crash. In normal times, I would be trying to reassure you that there is a future on the other side of redundancy, but these care obviously not normal times. Good luck.

I really hope you can find a new job soon. I'm in retail too and its dire at the moment.

So sorry OP! So awful for the employees!

Thanks for your answer about the own brands, OP.

That's interesting, especially about Mantaray. I would never have guessed that it had an older demographic!

There are lots of items though not owned by Debenhams, like Coty running all of the perfume and beauty sections etc.

Did you think it was a good store? Or did you think this may happen?
