inspired by another thread I've commented on. I'll be as open as I can.

Is it awful that I actually feel for those who are climbing the walls atm, unable to get their hands on it?

I also hate to think what I would have been like, had I still been drinking...I would have been a nightmare to live with!

I stopped drinking for a short while for various reasons.

I realised in the UK we have so much of our world tied up in alcohol.

It marks every occasion. Happy? Celebrate with Prosecco, sad? Well let's have a glass of wine to drown our sorrows.

'It's wine o'clock', hand me the gin etc... it's so normalised.

Bloody well done to you.

Remote I hear this! My local addaction centre used to be nestled between two pubs! And I lost a fuckload of friends when I became "boring" (ie, not out boozing). But I realised who was real in my life.

For my sober birthday, my two good friends not only got through a sober celebration, but a vegan meal too! That's support 😂😂
