What was your job role?

Did you ever feel guilty?

I had lots of job roles because I joined when it was a start up and stayed for years. I was young (v early twenties) when I started there in a general Customer Service position. I didn't know what a payday loan was when I joined tbh.

I ended up in an Operations Management position.

Guilty? Sometimes, yes I do. However I do also hold the view that adults are responsible, in the main, for their own actions. Many people who used the product properly benefited from a short term loan. However many more were stuck in a cycle of debt that it was almost impossible to escape from.

What did you really think of the clients?

I thought of the ones that I dealt with as individuals. Some were lovely, some were just in a short term bind, some were utter arseholes, some were desperate, and some I knew full well bullshitted me. I could spot a gambler a mile off and the stories I got told to try and get credit were astonishing.
