Just that really! Not in senior management.

OP posts:
CatToddlerUprising · 30/12/2018 10:56

Jazzhan- you don’t know my personal experiences and my career previous to what I do now. And I never force anyone to do anything. And no it isn’t in my job description to sit with someone like that but I do because it’s the right thing to do.

PotteryLady · 30/12/2018 10:56

Hi my pay day is 25th and my universal credit dates are 24th - 23rd but I was paid early for Christmas and it now looks like I've been paid twice so no uc - next month will look like haven't been paid at all. What will happen?

Jazzhan · 30/12/2018 10:59

PotteryLady. They'll tell you that this is the 'system' and there's nothing they can do.

Seemingly they'll give you the telephone number for the Samaritans if that helps!

EggysMom · 30/12/2018 11:00

OP, I'm sorry your thread attempt has been derailed by misguided anger. Please don't take it personally. I'm sure there are elements of the UC policy that you do not agree with, but you did not design the policy, and you need to keep a roof over your head too.

CatToddlerUprising · 30/12/2018 11:01

PotteryLady- you can ask your employer to re report the earnings for the usual pay date. But unfortunately if employers choose to pay early it does have a knock on effect.

Jazzhan · 30/12/2018 11:02

How am I derailing the thread? She says she works for the DWP, I'm asking her questions about that?
Some of you don't like reading the truth do you?

EggysMom · 30/12/2018 11:02

@Jazzhan Butt out.
It's one thing to rant about your own situation, it's another to start responding to other - genuine - questions with your diatribe. Just stop.

CatToddlerUprising · 30/12/2018 11:03

Jazzhan- how would you change the benefit system?

Jazzhan · 30/12/2018 11:03

I'd change it back to the way it was.

DisposableNN · 30/12/2018 11:04

Jazz if I were you I would cancel Sky and your gym. Tell them your situation and offer to pay monthly what you can.
Your priorites are rent, c/tax, utilities and food. Fuck sky for the time being!

wibblywobblyfish · 30/12/2018 11:05

Has there been a NC fail? I used to be in a front facing CS role and we were never allowed to offer opinion or advice outside of work. Please don't put yourself at risk of a disciplinary.

Jazzhan · 30/12/2018 11:05

Eggysmom, there's no diatribe, and I'll post what is the reality. That you don't like the reality, and prefer to think of people getting into debt as idiotic people who can't budget is your problem. To be faced with the breakdown of the figures doesn't suit your narrative does it?

Jazzhan · 30/12/2018 11:06

I've told you, I'm locked in contracts.

CatToddlerUprising · 30/12/2018 11:06

wibblywobblyfish- no name change fail- different poster.

looktothewesternsky · 30/12/2018 11:07

@jazzhan you asked whether the OP was prepared for someone to go into her office and shoot her and her colleagues.

And that's not a diatribe? You are clearly a very angry person and this thread obviously isn't helping you. Your comments are completely unnecessary, violent and full of anger, not "hard hitting".

DisposableNN · 30/12/2018 11:07

Wibbly do you mean me re a nc fail? If so I am absolutely nothing to do with op (as mnhq can confirm)

bifflediffle · 30/12/2018 11:07

except that you could cancel sky and gym, use a free emulator so no need for office, and us your phone as a hotspot so no need for broadband.

bifflediffle · 30/12/2018 11:08

*use

70sbaubles · 30/12/2018 11:08

Sky are good at taking on board difficulties if you ring them.

bifflediffle · 30/12/2018 11:09

if you contact sky and the gym they will let you cancel or reduce your bill

wibblywobblyfish · 30/12/2018 11:11

@CatToddlerUprising @DisposableNN ahhh apologies! Blush

Jazzhan · 30/12/2018 11:11

You don't understand contracts do you?
I can't use my phone as a hotspot as I have the basic phone line package and using it as a hotspot is not included.
I didn't asked whether she was prepared to be shot. I asked her whether she was afraid that someone might. It's not beyond the realms of possibility at this stage.
I have worked as a legal secretary and the thought that a client would go rogue and blast us to pieces was on my mind occasionally. So not an unreasonable question.

Jazzhan · 30/12/2018 11:12

Oh really biffle? Oh really? You think I haven't tried that?

DisposableNN · 30/12/2018 11:13

So what about your contract with sky. I recently got disconnected from them, spoke to them - agreed an amount to pay arrears . I don't need sky. I need to keep a roof over my head and to feed my children. That is more important than fucking up my credit for a while.
Likewise with the gym. Just tell them! Its hard, but once you have done it once it becomes so much easier and most businesses are understanding.

PotteryLady · 30/12/2018 11:13

What I want to know is will they pay the full amount next month because it looks like I haven't been paid? I only get £100 but entitled to £580 but it gets reduced. Will they pay £580 which would be better for me.
