What would happen in a major medical emergency eg stroke, heart attack? Are there good enough facilities on IoM or is it a helicopter job and would there be time to get to a major trauma centre?

Loving this thread as I was brought up on the IOM! Left to go to university at 18 but parents still live there.

Do you have an accent and how would you describe it ? The only Isle of Man person I've met is the cyclist Mark Cavendish and he had a lovely accent

The accent is a combination/blend of a Liverpool accent and slightly northern Irish.

I watched something years ago that talked about the Manx cat... made out like their were cats everywhere with no tail... true?

My absolutely beautiful big sister lives on the isle of Mann and the pictures she posts are out of this world breathtaking! Planning on going out to see her and the family at some point, when is the least touristy but most wow time to visit?

OP, can you remember the dreadful fire at Summerland? You might be too young? I remember very clearly as we were holidaying there.
