That is if we're not a little bit tired of all the AMA's now. Smile

why did you do it? Did you get what you wanted out of it?

TeenTimesTwo · 29/07/2018 17:34

Did you really want to move abroad, or were you in it for a free holiday?

simplepimple · 29/07/2018 17:34

Yes Mmzz. I wanted to move abroad and just happened to notice an online advertisement looking for people who might want to take part.

I wanted to move and I thought it might be little bit like a free holiday.

It wasn't.

Oh sorry I missed the abroad word!

How has it worked out?

simplepimple · 29/07/2018 17:37

How has it worked out?

I ended up buying a house.

mmzz · 29/07/2018 17:38

But why did you want to make the move abroad on TV? Lots of people do it, but very few choose to be filmed doing it. What was the appeal?

Pippylou · 29/07/2018 17:38

And do you live in it now?

Jillyjollyjandy · 29/07/2018 17:38

Which country were you looking in? I’ll gyess Spain.

willtheyevergotosleep · 29/07/2018 17:39

When you say “it wasn’t ..” ?
Could you elaborate?

Was it all “we need you all up at 5am so that we can film you crying in front of videos of your relatives saying they don’t want you to move” ?

simplepimple · 29/07/2018 17:40

I guess the appeal was to have a hand hold for the initial stages. That the TV company might help to make the research a little bit easier. That they might find a great house that I might not find myself.

OP posts:
simplepimple · 29/07/2018 17:42

And do you live in it now?

Yes I live abroad now but not in one of the houses I viewed on the programme.

OP posts:
simplepimple · 29/07/2018 17:42

Not Spain. Sorry.

Can we name the programme?

hooliodancer · 29/07/2018 17:43

Was the presenter friendly to you?

Was it fun?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 29/07/2018 17:44

When I said “howhas it worked out?” I meant how has living abroad worked out. Are you happy. Any regrets. Have you made some nice friends. Do you miss the U.K.

simplepimple · 29/07/2018 17:45

Close willthey. It was 'We need you ready to leave at 7am to catch the best of the light and to get enough footage'. Finishing at 7pm but then they wanted 5 days and due to work I could only commit to 4 so we were a day short.

Naming the programme might be a little too outing crafty. Sorry.

afrikat · 29/07/2018 17:47

Did they show you more houses than they showed on the program?

Did you feel pressured to put an offer in for one?

Did they give you a script or could you say whatever you want?

PeterPiperPickedSeaShells · 29/07/2018 17:48

Crying in front of videos of relatives who don't want you to move... "Wanted Down Under"?

simplepimple · 29/07/2018 17:49

*Was the presenter friendly to you?

Was it fun?*

The presenter was friendly which is good because at first you do feel a bit weird.

It was fun at times but I wouldn't do it again so not that much fun.

Did they do any checks beforehand? Such as income/agreements in principle for mortgage etc??

CraftyGin · 29/07/2018 17:49

Really?

So unless we know which show you were on, we have no way of relating to what you are talking about. They all have hundreds of episodes.
