I wasn't sure about starting the thread, the first comment almost made me request it to be deleted. But I'm not ashamed of it, and I think there isn't much information on it, considering it's a lifelong STD.

There's lots of information and acceptance on hiv, hepatitis etc (which there should be) but I feel more could be learned about herpes.

Most people with genital herpes don't actually know they have it, and the 'full STD check' at NHS clinics doesn't actually specifically test for it. Something like 80% of people with genital herpes are blissfully unaware they are infected with the virus.
