I’ve been 6ft tall since I was about 15, anyone have anything to ask? Smile

"confidence boosting" - I guess it is, but it can be impractical too.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 14/07/2018 20:47

6ft is very tall for a woman, the average height for a man in the UK is 5ft 10, for a woman it is 5ft 4 to 5ft 5. So I think you can safely class yourself as tall OP.

DH has size 13 feet and his mum and sister have size 8 feet....I'm guessing DTDs will probably have feet bigger than most sizes run to...

Moltenpink · 14/07/2018 20:48

@shineygold yes, I do like being eye to eye with other guys at work, it does make me feel a bit more confident. No idea why.

Dorothy P tall, long tall sally for work trousers, and yours clothing (I'm larger and they do a long leg length which is good enough). I live mainly in trainers but all my girly shoes are almost always from yours. They go up to a 10EEE fit which is a little larger than I need.
Also have lots of the long line Sainsburys vests, they cover my bum with ease (I'm actually 6'1.5"), wash well, hide my bra straps, and are only a fiver. Brilliant for this weather, or under things I'm worried might ride up, or for layering when its cold.

CrystalChronicles · 14/07/2018 21:22

Do you find that women lie about their height in the same way that some a lot of men do?
One of my sons is 5'11 3/4's high and regularly has other guys telling him that they are 6ft when they are clearly shorter than he is. We measured him carefully using levels etc so we know he is the height we think he is.

Passthecake30 · 14/07/2018 21:29

6ft-er here too.

Are you the tallest woman in your circles?

I'm the tallest woman in the office at work, tallest mum across the whole of the school...

Saying that, if I'm ever near anyone tall I stand myself up completely straight just in case Grin

Moltenpink · 14/07/2018 21:46

@Crystal if people ask how tall I am, I say 5’11! It’s just a habit from when I was single and wanted to sound more feminine.

Yes I’m the tallest in my circles, I haven’t met a taller woman yet I don’t think.

I’m 5’11” and love it. Wish I was 6ft. One of my friends is 6ft and married to a man who is about 6’7”. She gets annoyed because he gets all the attention Grin

So, since I’m rewatching Game of Thrones, what is your take on Brienne of Tarth?

bargainbin · 14/07/2018 23:20

Does it bother you when you see short women with really tall men?

Poppyseedroll · 14/07/2018 23:28

6’1!

387I2 · 15/07/2018 05:38

Have you ever considered sewing clothes for yourself, or taking sewing classes?

Bergans (Norwegian make, "Bergans of Norway") have sports clothes for tall women should you ever need any, see their web shop online. They're the best.

HRTpatch · 15/07/2018 05:45

Another six footer here.
Brienne of Tarth is my girl crush Grin

What was it like at school. Were you always ich taller than your peers.
My DD is very tall at 6 yrs old, and I think she will be 6ft. I’m not tall, but DH is. She is so noticeable in a group as she’s the biggest. Do you have any advice for coping with always being seen. She can’t blend into the crowd.
