Why is a lot of fruit and veg such tasteless crap compared to what you can buy for example in a Greek fruit and veg stall? Is it all polytunnel culture?

He's a wholesaler in Covent Garden so our produce comes in fresh every day, mainly from Italy and tastes lovely. Not all as pretty and uniform size as some of the supermarket produce but taste is spot on.
