I didn't feel like I had a great community to be honest and so didn't keep in touch with them. I worked out of an apartment doing outcalls and incalls and the turn over of workers was high and quick. Plus the guy running it manipulated us to believe we were somehow up against one another I think. I was happy to keep my personal life very seperate

I was only 20 and had just broken up with my partner and felt very lost. I wasn't working at the time and was looking on gumtree for a job. There was an advert advertising easy money for women. I enquired and took it from there.
I got customers through the person running the business and worked out of a city centre apartment. He advertised online.

On Mumsnet over the years well over 100 current or ex prostitutes have talked about their experiences on a number of threads.

Of those who had left prostitution (the majority of those who contributed) about half had a good experience and for about half it was bad.

So not all prostitutes were Happy hookers and not all miserable victims-it was a spectrum of experiences.
