There's a lot of corruption, not only with the police. But since you mention it, it was very memorable when a federal policemen in the anti-corruption squad got arrested... for corruption.
Everything is very bureaucratic here, so everything takes a lot of time to happen. Money goes a long way in speeding things up.

I'm very sorry for your friend's experience.

Eh, I'm not that much of a football fan. I have the impression Brazil produces loads of talented footballers simply because it is an easy sport to start. I remember, as a child, using shoes to mark the goal and making a sock ball to kick around.
Brazil is an incredibly diverse place with a big population, so I believe we could get someone with a good body type for pretty much every sport there is. Some just require a lot of money to start and don't get much media attention, thus not appealing for the youth.

This is me, very obviously bumping this.

I haven't watched those films. Whenever I watch Brazilian films, I choose comedies. Some are quite good!

Hi OP. This has been interseting to read.
Regarding your comments about childbirth, is an induction ever offered (if you can pay for it)? I ask because in the UK if your baby dies from second tri on the preference us to induce you rather than do a c section, as c sections increase rates of stillbirth in future pregnancies. And a vaginal delivery is theoretically better in terms of recovery.
Was your friend's aunt able to have a midwife or doctor at her delivery? Or do women usually give birth with no medical attention?
Thanks for reading.
