I often see threads about Tax Credits, mostly negative. I have offered advice previously where I thought I could help.

Wondered if anyone had any questions

Do you yourself claim tax credits?

How many people work in the call centre?

Do you feel bad for all the people who've been overpaid or otherwise badly treated by the system? Tax Credit miscalculations have made my family's life hell.

How much sway do you have personally in wiping overpayments etc. Do you have any power to do this?

Hi tax credit lady, if you work a few hours a week but are also a carer in receipt of carers allowance then how many hours a week do you work? Your non-caring hours only or all your hours including your caring hours?

@taxceditlady
When in a UC area, and “change of circumstances” is what triggeres current TC claimants, to be moved onto UC, what counts as a change in circumstance? New job? Baby? Starting study? Or is it only a change which causes the need to claim a new benefit such as jobseekers?

How much is highest rate child tax credit for one non disabled child. Like what is the most you can get for one child?

Are there bands of income displayed anywhere, which can show me what tax credits you can receive depending on your income band? There must be “amounts” you have to earn under and over, to qualify for certain amounts. Please can you clarify what these are?
