Update 😡😡😡😡
3 weeks ago I was told by someone at Land Registry that if I do not agree and sign the form my husband’s solicitor sent me to change our house deeds from Joint Tenency to Tenency in Common then Land Registry will not accept and change it, I sighed a huge sigh of relief, at least something was going right for me.
Yesterday I recieved a letter from Land Registry informing me that our deeds are now Tenency in Common!!!
I rang Land Registry and was told that whoever told me that they would not accept it was wrong!!!!!!!!!
I complained rather loudly, and asked if it is possible for me to change it back. Answer?????
Only if my husband agrees and signs the form!
I asked them how it could be fair that he can change it from Joint Tenency to Tenency in Common without my permission, but I cannot change it back from Tenency in Common to Joint Tenency without his permission, they told me “sorry, but that is how it is”
So, all I can do now is try and find the money to get my own Will made out ASAP, and trust me, he will get a shock when he finds out I am not leaving my half of our house to him, which is what he is banking on, that is why he is refusing to help me pay for my Will!!!!
I might even contemplate finding somone who would be willing to buy my half of our house before I even die, at least then I will know my children will get something when I die.
I might sound like I am being silly, but he has controlled me with money for 30 years now, I am not going to let him get his hands on my half of a house that I paid half for, and have looked after for 30 years!!!!
