If you’re on the hunt for this year’s best adult sex toy Advent calendar, look no further than the Sinful Original Advent calendar for 2024. At just £99, this thoughtfully curated collection from the female-rounded brand is so far the most impressive one I’ve come across and offers exceptional value. 

Behind each traditional pop-out door (a classic touch that prevents premature peeking – unlike many competitors) lies a carefully selected item that builds toward 24 days of fun. The calendar contains an array of 12 sex toys, eight essentials, and four kinkier items, accompanied by a very detailed guide book that provides valuable tips and inspiration for each item.

The selection caters brilliantly to couples who are either new to sex toys or prefer vanilla play, while still offering enough intrigue for those ready to explore further (including the most resistant ones, like my DH).

When I say that this sex toy Advent calendar has everything, I mean every toy or kinky accessory you can think of. What it lacks, though, is sex essentials like lube, condoms and cleaning wipes or gel, which I’ve seen in other calendars like Lovehoney’s and SheSpot’s. 

With that said, for you experienced folk, that wouldn’t be a dealbreaker as it’s safe to assume you’d already have the necessary tools before using sex toys. For beginners, though, I’d argue that this is a slight misjudgement, and would be an added expense on top of the cost of the calendar. In fact, inside the helpful guide, customers are prompted to purchase lubes, massage oil and a sex toy cleaner from Sinful via a QR code. 

Favourite #1 - Couple’s love sleeve

Much like a We-Vibe, this couple’s love sleeve can be worn during PIV for added sensations for both of you. This particular one in Sinful’s calendar can be used with the separate bullet vibrator, which sits atop your clitoris while the other arm should be inserted. Plus, the bullet vibe isn’t too noisy when turned on (in fact, all toys in this calendar are under 50dB).

Of course, this is a basic version of a couple’s sleeve and is a great way to try out this type of toy before you invest your money in something more expensive, like a We-Vibe.

Favourite #2 - Couple’s double vibrator

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t confused when unboxing this particular toy - but looks can be deceiving and in the case of this particular toy, they certainly are. Designed for couples and similar to the So Divine’s duet version, the flexible arms wrap around your DH’s penis while the shaft can be used for internal stimulation, be it vaginal or anal. 

Which, I’ll be honest, makes for a rather enhanced experience when used during PIV. My only complaint is that the battery charge lasts less than an hour - not so great for those longer sessions. 

Favourite #3 - Couple’s cock ring

You can’t beat a good old cock ring in your collection of toys, and this particular one strategically adds vibrations to your clit during use. It’s compatible with the bullet vibrator, but thanks to its snug fit, you could also, in theory, use it to help your partner last longer without the vibrations turned on.

Favourite #4 - Anal teaser

For individuals taking their first step into the world of anal play, this particular anal teaser is probably the least intimidating one I’ve seen out of the sex Advent calendars I’ve opened so far. It’s also the only curved one I’ve come across this year, which allows you to have more targeted play I find plus the slimmer handles ensure safety while also being practical by staying in place.

Favourite #5 - Sex positions game and date night game

Okay, so technically this is two items as they’re both opened on separate days but given the product type - cards - I’ve bundled them into my fifth favourite. Mainly because, when you’ve been together for 15 years, married for 10 and had two kids very close together - a few inspirational cards for new positions to try and date night ideas are much appreciated. 

How we tested the Sinful Original Advent calendar

• Tested solo and with the help of DH over a few weeks

• BDSM style items were avoided, like the nipple covers, handcuffs and bondage rope

• The bodystocking and thong, while nice, didn’t fit me too well 

• Used with water-based lubricant only

This is my first experience of using Sinful products, having previously swayed towards the likes of Lovehoney and Ann Summers. But honestly, this female-founded company might be my new go-to recommendation for sex toys for individuals and couples. 

I should mention at this point that any product imagery in this review was taken before testing the products. 

Who is this Sinful Original sex Advent calendar most suited for?

Similar to Lovehoney’s 24-day offering this year, Sinful’s is great whether bought for individual play or for couple’s to enjoy together. But, it is clear that it has been curated with couple’s in mind specifically.

The hero toys, which in my opinion are the double vibrator and the double G&P wand are unisex, so both of you can enjoy exploring new sensations together without FOMO. 

There are a few pieces in here that I wouldn’t necessarily call beginner friendly, like the BDSM items but even then, they’re not in the least bit intimidating. Is this due to the lovely colour scheme throughout? Probably. 

Maybe skip Sinful’s Original Advent calendar if:

• You’re only interested in advanced BDSM

• You prefer all rechargeable toys

• You need more inclusive sizing for lingerie

• You already own similar basic toys

The inclusion of lingerie is a welcomed addition, even if they weren’t the right fit for me, I was still impressed that two pieces were inside. And, while it lacks essentials like lubricant and cleaning supplies, the thoughtful progression of items and high-quality materials make it our top recommendation in the sex toy Advent calendar category for 2024.
