As an Irish person I’m horrified about that pair in America. Like it’s unbelievable to do that. Money obviously. Nothing else. Plus they can bank and run.

Equally odious is the Irish ‘chappy’ running his own private UK clinic. Can’t name him, obviously, as this is a UK website, he gets mentioned the odd time in Irish media…

I've got Gen A kids and it's the subject of eye rolling at school. Trans is one step away from cringe for them. I also suspect we'll be seeing the costs of transition become more obvious as people age and the impact of cross-sex hormones bites home on their bodies.

Understanding the importance of sex and the harms of gender ideology especially when it comes to childhood transition is not transphobia its simply common sense, using critical thinking and the life experience we have gained.
Oh and yes people do get more conservative as they age and women in particular become much more concerned about people harming women and children when they become mothers. So i wouldn't expect the direction of travel to change especially when you consider that the fad is almost over amongst the youngest generation.

I mean, I'm proud when my "metabolic age" goes down year on year as I get more healthy in retirement, but... is the population getting younger?

The "younger generation" are normally somewhere on the scale of "don't care, not interested " to "yeah, whatever, be kind and all that" until they have their own children. And, yes, American insurance companies won't even pay out to those clients who haven't lied to them, without taking possession of somebody's first-born as collateral. I don't think so. Although that report I link to above is very Republican-leaning, my (very rough) understanding of US insurance systems is that insurance companies are not likely to placidly accept losing millions of dollars to tax fraud.

According to Google, a doctor can practice without it, it's called 'going bare' but if a patient sues and wins the court will go after the doctors personal wealth and has the power to liquidate assets and seize money.

So, if doctors don’t have malpractice insurance, are their patients/vulnerable victims dependent on being able to go after their personal wealth. I’m sure they’d have it placed well out of reach, if so. Being the type of doctors who don’t carry malpractice insurance in the first place.

I wonder if having insurance is optional depending on what State you practice in? I seem to recall reading somewhere that Sidhbh Gallagher (Irish doctor working in US) didn’t have medical insurance. I could be wrong on that, or even maybe it is dependent on which State she carried out her operations.
