The thing that that article misses is that if the hospitals and drs had done nothing wrong when it comes to billing and/or treatment then they wouldn't have agreed to what amounts to a plee deal they would have fought the criminal charges in crt.

Which means they'll have to pay for their own malpractice insurance, which may be very difficult to get what with all the lawsuits going on. We may see some of the butchers in jail yet.

I don't think so. Although that report I link to above is very Republican-leaning, my (very rough) understanding of US insurance systems is that insurance companies are not likely to placidly accept losing millions of dollars to tax fraud.

Demographic polling makes it pretty clear that this is inevitable unless people become more transphobic as they age, once the current generation of anti-trans voters age out of the population, even with the rise of the far right populism among young men.

I also see no sign of the Dems changing their stance on this, so the next time they get in it will likely all be reversed. It's just a matter of whether they'll ever get back in, the DSA is doing them a lot of damage amongst ordinary people, and I think they're counting on Woke 2 to get them back in.
