Another insult to female athletes

I don’t care much about competitive sport, but I care about integrity, I care about women’s rights, women’s dignity, and respect for women’s hard work.

Amy Hunt is not only incredibly talented but also extremely attractive, not that that should matter, but apparently it does.

The Sydney Sweeney ads look ridiculous. I can't believe we're still doing this in 2026.

It's aimed at men who gamble on sports - It's not saying what women in sport are supposed to look like.

Men like boobs so will be more inclined to watch the advert. How's it any different from women going out wearing short skirts or low cut tops to get attention?

Can't really see the issue personally.

I saw this and honestly I don’t get the backlash. This is Sweeney’s thing. It’s what she is known for as she isn’t particularly good actress. Yes it’s very sexualised but…I think creating a huge backlash is almost counter productive.

Also Sweeney is not an athlete. She’s an actress.

So we don't, obviously, try to interest men in the amazing aspects of women athletes, their strength, their determination, ambition, achievements, grace, character -

just get some actress with boobs and make her look pretty. What year did they make the film What Women Want, in which Helen Hunt et al took the piss out of advertising like this? 2001 I think. A quarter of a century ago.

And yes, FFS, some young women wear short shorts so all women need to put up with this? Let’s bring back Benny Hill and have a good laugh about voyeurism and rape then. Honestly boobs are so funny I can’t think how I ever rose to senior ranks in work, it’s amazing I had time to spare after having a good laugh at my tits in the mirror. 🤦‍♀️😑

She looks amazing in these pics 🤩 - I agree we don't need to sexualise everything but can we criticise the 'creatives' who came up with this and maybe post their images instead of the naked shots? Though happy to look at those too for inspiration.
