In May 2026, Dora was sentenced by the Paris High Court to a fine of €4,754 and court costs for an «injure publique» against a group of people based on their gender identity and sex. She started speaking out on the "excesses of trans ideology" in 2020 and co-authored a book “Transmania” with Marguerite Stern

The offence stemmed from a statement she made on TV channel France 2 on October 15, 2022 "As women, we are forced to be wary of people with penises ," in the context of a televised debate discussing the case of trans-identifying males being held in women's prisons. She made a series of Substack posts which documents the case against her and her appeal is due to be heard in 2027.

Due to speaking out on women's rights, many death threats have been made against her and published on the internet. Initially the police pursued against those who had threatened violence... but the identities of the accused could not be verified. Twelve "unusual" transcription errors with IP addresses and small details meant that the criminal case collapsed earlier this year. As a result she is pursuing a civil case and has had to provide a deposit and proof that she is not doing this as harassment... Seems especially perverse given the mildness of her comments!

Now she has been informed that she will be "the subject of a new legal proceeding, initiated by another LGBT association, “Famille LGBT”, for comments made in 2023 in the manifesto on our website femelliste.com". These are very similar remarks to those made in 2022.

So 2027 is looking a bit grim for her and there is a garden which is not entirely east to find -

  • appealing the €4,754 fine and conviction from 2022
  • her own civil case regarding death threats (after collapse of criminal case)
  • new hearing on the Famille LGBT case

She says "I am faced with a difficult legal battle. A legal battle to have the French justice system recognize the right of French citizens to criticize the excesses of a fashionable ideology without being accused of uttering insults or inciting hatred."

I hope she wins her case. It is ridiculous that she could be fined for such mild talk, while the authorities ignore actual death threats

Nouvelle procédure contre moi : j’ai besoin de votre soutien MASSIF!

Condamnée pour avoir critiqué l’idéologie transgenre, me voilà de nouveau traînée devant les tribunaux par une asso LGBT....

You could certainly interpret it that way.

"The judges argued that by referring to transgender women as “people with penises” and opposing them to “women,” Moutot was denying their feminine gender identity and implicitly stating that transgender women are not women.
The court further accused Moutot of associating the penis with a state of dangerousness and insinuating that transgender women have a predisposition to sexually assault biological women."

To be referred to as a transwoman you have to be male...by definition.

A 'phenomena' is a measurable reality that is universal. Sex is a universal reality across 99% of all species. It is hardwired in and has a wider evolutionary purpose and function.

Gender Identity is a recently constructed set of ideas - developed into a theory on american universirty campuses in the late 1980/early 1990's. It represents a social trend in thinking about human psychology and how identity is formed and developed.

I used to study 'Women's Studies at university ( Sociology department) before it morphed into 'Gender studies'. It arose from the academy and from people like Judith Butler; along with 'Intersectionalism' and 'Critical Race Theory'. It will pass because it has no widepread legitimacy or foundation. Bological Sex, meanwhile, will continue to shape and influence the human experience.

Imposing male people into protected female categories that have been created to give dignity to female people is not progressive, and no amount of name calling or calling. 'bigotry' is going to change my mind about the worth and dignity of women and girls. Males are not female....no matter the recent trend in the academy.

Evolutionary psychologists & biological science disagree.

Hormones & genes create behavioural patterns that are socially associated to sex which likely to be evolutionarily influenced.

So is religion & yet its still hate speech to insight hate over a belief.

It is the ideology itself which is framing resistance as 'hate'. That trans ideology has such ideological hegemony and can even fine people and send them to prison for stating biological reality, and for defending the integrity and dignity of female people is dystopian.

Who would have beleived that this could happen in the 21st century in countries which proclaim themselves to be supportive of women and girls?

roseyposey · 04/09/2026 08:48

Personally I’m wary of people using the phrase “hate speech” when what they’re referring to amounts to disagreement with another person’s viewpoint. This isn’t “hatred”.

'Disagreement' becomes a problem when it incites hate. Just ask Jews, Blacks, Muslims, women, homosexuals etc etc

Social associations are culturally determined...but what makes someone male or female is hardwired in, is measurable, and universal. Even if someone does not conform to certain social associations it does not change their fundamental sex.

Men who identify as women are still male...and most are as driven by typical male desires as any other male person. In fact, some are even more extreme. Paraphilia is far more common in males than in females - regardless of their social 'identity'.

I view any trans ideology which imposes males into female spaces; prioritising their self evaluation over the reality of a woman's immutable sex - as profoundly hateful and disregarding. How did we get here, and how on earth can it be seen as progressive?

Oh, I see the bigoted loons are already out this morning. How tedious.

No, you are just scientifically illiterate. "Science" doesn't disagree at all.

"Gender identity" is meaningless concept to anyone but sexists. It's not a measurable phenomena. It is entirely a product of a currently fashionable slavish adherence to backwards sex stereotypes. By a small number of deluded people who imagine it makes them something they're not. And deeply misogynistic societies like France, clearly, which always put male desires over female needs.

Biological sex, however, is a measurable reality. one which materially affects the lives and experiences of those of both sexes. It isn't an "identity" and doesn't rely on lazy stereotypes - you're a woman or man based on your biology, not your adherence or not to a set of sexist pink n blue stereotypes or nonsense about "femininine identities". It's not a personality. it's not likes, dislikes hairstyle or outfits. It's a reality. It's politically and socially salient and meaningful in measurable ways.

You prefer the misogyny and punishing women for acknowledging reality. Like the French courts. You are not a progressive. Just another tedious sexist, who I assume is going to be spending the day spamming this thread with your bullshit.

celavieee · 04/09/2026 09:02

Shortshriftandlethal · 04/09/2026 08:49

When you suggest that 'gender identity' has more social significance than biological sex then you are asserting priority for it, and in doing so laying waste to hard won protections that honour female people and cater to their specific requirements. (Some might call this an act of colonisation).

Believe what you want about your 'identity' but it is a private matter to be negotiated with friends and family, not something imposed from above by society onto everyone - and against all measurable and known reality the world over.

No one is suggesting gender identity has more significance than sex. You appear to be confusing basic social etiquette regarding social conventions with belief statements.

Anti woman feeling is the most enduring hatred there is, the world over. Women and girls are demoted to second class citizens and their integrity is violated; their needs and sensitivities ignored or suppressed.

You could offer the same defense for the Nazis 'resistance'.

What you are calling 'social etiquette' becomes a monster of authoritarianism when it demands the natives kow tow to its prescriptions. I will not be compelled by 'social etqiuette' to refer to a man as a woman. I am a woman. I have dignity and integrity in that, and that is not up for negotiation.

People can think of themselves how they like, but they cannot compel people to go along with their own personal fantasy or belief system, especially when it infringes on the dignity and integrity of other people. We have religious freedom in the U.K, but do not have the right to compel others to adhere to or private articles of faith or doctrines.

Ridiculous analogy and not even well thought out. When unsure...just reach for the Nazi analogies. What do you think the Nazis were resisting? Or perhaps are you comparing women to Nazis - for standing up for their dignity and their established protections?

All human 'labelling' is a social construct including sex. It's simply a categorising phenomena via words.

This is really a greater battle between free speech absolutism & hate speech. Should there be limits to speech if they incite hatred?

Moutot hides behind 'just stating facts' which is essentially using a strawman to deny gender identity. Its a sleight of hand designed to smuggle in bigotry.

Stating a fact that people with penises are male people is not hatred.

Thats the conclusion of a first tier court. Maya Forstater also lost her first case - it was much better to make binding case law when she won on appeal. Dora is appealing and will inevitably win because facts are on her side. People with penises are the only people who can commit rape (under UK law anyway). She didn’t state anything untrue and as self ID allows anyone with a penis to claim womanhood theres zero barrier to nefarious types claiming a trans identity to access women’s spaces. Thats facts and nothing hateful about it. As the higher courts will no doubt find in due course - and hopefully if French courts are entirely hopeless she’ll get this to the European Court and settle it for all of us. The sooner they have to review this stuff the better - previous cases centred on acknowledgement of identity with the state. IThe case law doesnt support dominion over other individuals and removal of the human rights of others. Bring on the legal cases!

Ooh, invocation of Nazis already and it's only just gone nine. Pathetic stuff.

"Gender identity" is regressive sex stereotypes. Nothing more meaningful or worthwhile than that. Biological sex is reality, regardless of adherence or not to sex stereotypes. Denying "gender identity" is standing in opposition to rank sexism. Claiming that "gender identity" holds any relevance whatsoever is misogyny.

The judgement is misogynistic. But as we were saying, France as a society always has been. Men's wants come first, and this appalling judgement is no exception.

You are confusing gender & sex.

Also discrimination can rise to the level of harassment so while you are entitled to your beliefs you aren't entitled to deny others theirs by denying their right to their own identity which deliberate misgendering qualifies as.

What right is it that biological males have to give them access to the single sex spaces of biological females? Biological males have the right to their own single sex spaces.

If transwomen are women then why have none of them given birth?
