French Campaigner Dora Moutot - court case over comments on sex and gender rights

For a country that prides itself on being secular and liberal, France has really decided to go all in on genderism and on punishing women for non-compliance with the tenets of genderism.

This ideology really does expose the seamy, sexist underbelly of a lot of countries and their institutions. It highlights the fact that commitment to women's rights in any given country is often skin deep and that there are a lot of men who resent women for both winning and trying to retain legal rights.

It is fascinating. I always reckoned France to be the more muscular liberal country than the UK in recent decades, lacité, their total separation of church and state, and their much more straightforward attitudes to sex.
But what do we find? Even this sex positive muscular liberal ethos is corrupted by trans ideology.
What a movement, it embeds itself in societies and wreaks it's destructive intent. Even in nations as seemingly confident in themselves as France. Ditto Germany, Spain etc.

Secular and liberal, perhaps, but certainly not a bastion of womens rights. French women didn't get the vote until 1945, their rape laws are only now - post Gisele - starting to accept that rape is possible in the absence of violent force, and until quite recently the law could compel women to live with their husband.

Coming from the male perspective, I remain amazed so many French men (or any other nation, tbh) just lets this pass. Then again I've spoken to many British men who just shrug their shoulders as if I'm simply describing a change to when the Radio Times drops on their doormat.

Sometimes I wonder if the ferocity of the suppression of sex realism is in proportion to the groundlessness of transgenderism.

Fair play to whichever Jean-Pierre Gauthier it was, that's really putting your money where your beliefs are!

And again we are reminded - woman are scared men will kill them, and men are scared women will laugh at them. The latter being obviously more pressing for the authorities.

Indeed. It's rare to see a French film without bare breasts, but also rare to see one with a bare penis. Ditto beaches.

This is really a greater battle between free speech absolutism & hate speech. Should there be limits to speech if they incite hatred?

Moutot hides behind 'just stating facts' which is essentially using a strawman to deny gender identity. Its a sleight of hand designed to smuggle in bigotry.

'Gender Identity' is a conceptual construction, not a measurable reality that everyone is subject to. Nobody can be compelled to believe in a conceptual construction, nor pledge allegiance to it. That is a private matter. To impose beliefs in such a way is a sign of totalitarianism. Resistance to such imposition is not hatred.

It would be possible to detect a strong whiff of misogyny and anti woman bigotry in prioritising such a concept over the reality of biological sex, and the implications of that sex for female people. That's what gets me; it so profoundly "hateful" and disregarding of the dignity and integrity of female people.

So is religion & yet its still hate speech to insight hate over a belief.

What 'priority'? Acknowledging both phenomenas exist isn't asserting priority.

A 'phenomena' is a measurable reality that is universal. Sex is a universal reality across 99% of all species. It is hardwired in and has a wider evolutionary purpose and function.

Gender Identity is a recently constructed set of ideas - developed into a theory on american universirty campuses in the late 1980/early 1990's. It represents a social trend in thinking about human psychology and how identity is formed and developed.

I used to study 'Women's Studies at university ( Sociology department) before it morphed into 'Gender studies'. It arose from the academy and from people like Judith Butler; along with 'Intersectionalism' and 'Critical Race Theory'. It will pass because it has no widepread legitimacy or foundation. Bological Sex, meanwhile, will continue to shape and influence the human experience.

Imposing male people into protected female categories that have been created to give dignity to female people is not progressive, and no amount of name calling or calling. 'bigotry' is going to change my mind about the worth and dignity of women and girls. Males are not female....no matter the recent trend in the academy.

Personally I’m wary of people using the phrase “hate speech” when what they’re referring to amounts to disagreement with another person’s viewpoint. This isn’t “hatred”.

When you suggest that 'gender identity' has more social significance than biological sex then you are asserting priority for it, and in doing so laying waste to hard won protections that honour female people and cater to their specific requirements. (Some might call this an act of colonisation).

Believe what you want about your 'identity' but it is a private matter to be negotiated with friends and family, not something imposed from above by society onto everyone - and against all measurable and known reality the world over.

You could certainly interpret it that way.
