It was basically poking fun at the number of men identifying as women using fetishy pictures of themselves lying or sitting on the floor or draped over other non-chair pieces of furniture. Or maybe they're just trolls claiming to identify as women as an excuse to air their fetishes. Who can tell? Neither possibility is good for TRA arguments.

She answered British trans activist Dame Katy Denise by deadnaming her and saying she had seen her birth certificate

It’s because there are countless pictures of AGP men posing, often in odd positions which presumably they think are “sexy” when they could just be sat down normally. Have a scroll through Dame Katy’s X page and you’ll get the gist. So Katy/Keith surmises they can’t afford chairs and selflessly campaigns to help them.

Yes I heard about that and other examples of not wanting to be seen to be part of a side.

And she may have looked uncomfortable on stage with her former co-stars, but that could also have been because they knew that she didn't like public grandstanding so for them to use the situation to make speeches to puff themselves up was actually a slight to her.

Many years ago I heard an interview with Jane Fonda and bits were about feminism and also acting with Dolly Parton. And Jane Fonda said that in terms of feminism she learnt more after Dolly Parton invited her to to her home and then took her round various places from her childhood and where (at that time) she had help local people get work etc.. And Jane Fonda said she learnt more about what it is to actually be a feminist rather than someone who makes statements about being a feminist. And that part of that was the difference of having a poor working class background.

But seems this lesson disappeared as she is still very much a celebrity politico. Accept that with her reputation hard not to be sneered at.

But Dolly Parton never fell for that performative politics, or rather didn't stand on a soap box but put her well earned money into helping others.

Babybabybaby222's MS Paint cartoons might count. Although they are full-body horror in places (the full-body phallo, for example). Other F2M (biological females who identify as male) also make similar cartoons. The main subject is a F2M character who is very small and says 'dood' a lot. Sometimes a M2F character (often called Alice) is also included. Alice is depicted as a large biological male who sometimes looks after the F2Ms, acting as a kind 'big brother.'

It's interesting that these self-deprecating cartoons are made by biological females.

I get the impression from discussions I’ve heard that she may have had political views but very deliberately maintained strict neutrality as a matter of policy. One example was that she found excuses to decline accepting some particular honour from Trump and then also declined accepting it from Biden.

I'm sad to report that DP and I are unable to contribute to chair poverty. As every time we watch bargain hunt or similar shows we get the chair value very wrong. So 'we know nothing about chairs ' has become a thing in our house. Sorry, Keith!

I imagine she did - she was very savvy but coming out on a particular political side could have (& likely would have) alienated half her fan base, therefore it was a shrewd business move to keep politically neutral.

Parton was an outstanding singer, and by all accounts a really kind person. But her generic "let's all just be nice to people" political philosophy is hardly a sophisticated viewpoint. (Perhaps she had more nuance in private.)

Obviously daring to say anything was enough, but it seems to have been her response to the Dr Dame’s quip which sent certain people into hilariously misplaced frothing madness.

And being a woman!
